Great little USB build for enthusiasts. Don't expect a quick ROI unless your a lucky solo miner.

I set mine up on a Windows 10 rig. I currently have 5 running at 630MHz averaging 420Gh/s. I don't have experience with using these on a Raspberry. They're pretty much bulletproof once you get them dialed in. Having access to the voltage screw helps. These are meant for those who like to tweak/overclock, not those looking for a quick profit. Setup in Windows was not so much plug and play. I had to run the sticks through Zadig, reinstalling the USB drivers. Then CGminer was able to recognize them. There is a "Gekkoscience FS7 USB Setup Guide" pdf that is floating around on the web that has some setup information in it. I recommend looking it over.

Description is incorrect. It does not come with a user manual. Save your money.

The only software used to handle the usb device is a bat and conf file, if your usb crashes there is nothing to stop the usb from trying to perform the previous task and you will have to do a complete reboot to regain control. The guide is only about two pages long when explaining how to install and configure and only shows one way to configure, Overclocking is nearly impossible and is an ON/OFF function that doesn't allow you to control the amount of overclocking. To make things even more frustrating there is no heat sensor on the device and no way to indicate that it's overheating. Once I got it setup and running im looking at 2,500 monthly sat income or 0.0003806 USD monthly. Since im losing money to run the usb I would say this product is a waste until the developer decides to make the supporting software more user friendly
Great for tinkering and solo mining

You can stack multiples together and configure them with an app like CGMiner. When it comes to overclocking, it's crucial to remember that these devices require proper cooling to perform optimally. For instance, I consistently run them at 300 MHz with no issues, but removing the fan can lead to overheating and errors, which CGMiner will try to mitigate by down-throttling. Eventually, the devices may just give up until they cool down (I tried but had no joy without cooling). I manage this configuration using CGMiner I built on this system: Raspberry Pi 5 Model B Rev 1.0 Linux version 6.6.20+rpt-rpi-2712 (debian-kernel@lists.debian.org) (gcc-12 (Debian 12.2.0-14) 12.2.0, GNU ld (GNU Binutils for Debian) 2.40) #1 SMP PREEMPT Debian 1:6.6.20-1+rpt1 (2024-03-07)
These are great!

These are a fun learning tool for sure. Active cooling is a must. I blew the traces out of a Raspi Zero after mining through it for 2 weeks (pulling more than 2 amps through it), but then found the atolla 4 port USB 3.0 hub on here would allow 2.9 amps to pass through (by testing) - and get close to 300 GH/s at 475 MHz. I used a Klein USB ammeter to ensure not to go over 3A. AltairTech has Gekko USB hubs that are built to provide the power these things require. I suggest getting one if you want to monkey around with more than 1 of these, or to make a small lotto mining rig. A Raspberry PI 4 is recommended for that.

I have and use two of these Red ones now. Defiantly faster than the Green one I have. It does run hot you need fans. I do no over clocking, speeds do sorta match the advertised speeds. It varies. It does mine BCT, DEM, and a few other SHA256 algorithm based coins. Results will vary.. Something to Experiment with, takes some study.. Probably won't make anyone rich..
