The Nylon version worked just fine on first try.

Easy five stars. My BR sink drain was badly clogged. Two rounds of Drano did essentially nothing. Ordered both the metal and the nylon models of this snake and started with the nylon (this one). My drain makes it difficult to get good sized tools down there (e.g. a screwdriver) but was able to sneak this snake down on several sides with several passes - each time bringing up a very satisfying clump of hair. Drain works perfectly now. Thank you Drainsoon!

Do these work ? Yes, technically they do. They pulled out quuite a bit of hair from our sink and tub drains. What i dont like - they keep the shape of the box they came in, so they stayed curled up and you can't get them striaght. The barbs that are suppose to grab the hair and other gunk in the drain catch on everything. It took me 20 minutes to finagle one out of the drain because every bard got caught on something and it was like trying to pick a lock getting it out. In an emergency these can be handy. But i dont like how hard they are to get in the drain (again because they stay bent and twisted) and then trying to get it out is even harder. They do remove the majority of hair, i think. When i did finally get it out there was a decent hairball attached i suspect a lot got left behind though. They arent very long (in this case thats good) so it'll just get hair within a foot of the drain opening. If your tub or sink is backed up its less of a headache calling a plumber with a real professional drain snake.
