Our public city water seems to be good enough as for TDS, but I need RO in concern of PFAS
By X.S. on Reviewed in the United States on December 29, 2023
Our public city water claimed to be pretty good, as it also showed on the TDS reading: for the incoming tap water, TDS reading is only around 30ppm. However, I am concerned about PFAS nowadays which cannot even be detected by the most commonly used TDS measurement. So this system is good for that as well, and I really like the real time measurement of TDS as an indicator RO is working. I also want to provide a few notes on the installation I hope can help others and clarify a couple things, because I felt some other reviewers might get not realize these. First of all, some people mentioned it’s really hard to take out the plugs from four water ports on the back of the unit. It’s actually the feature of these quick release connectors. Just like when you trying to directly pull out the 1/4 inch line from a quick release connector, they are designed to be hard to pull out or the line would be accidentally get pulled out. The correct way to pull out plugs or lines from these connectors is you need to push and hold down the tab collar while you pull plugs or lines out of them. So for these plugs on the back of the unit, if you push and hold the tab collar first and then pull the plugs while holding down the collar, it would be much easier and you would also hear a pop as it release the pressure from inside as you remove the plugs. The other thing is installation manual has it wrong on page 9, step 4c, the large (or longer) faucet post is for purified (or RO) water. The short post is for filtered only (or non-RO) water. And these should be connected to purified and filtered water ports on the back of the unit accordingly. You can also tell by the flow rate of two different types of water after installation. RO water has a pause on the start to get the pump going and it also has slower flow rate as it goes through one more filtration step (reverse osmosis) than just the filtered water. Third, I also used the dishwasher adapter for the drainage hose as others mentioned. But you don’t have to buy the $27 dollar one that’s bundled automatically as “buy it together” option on the product page. As long as it’s for 1/4 quick release connector and similar overall shape, it’s good. I actually found one from same brand (air gap international) and that brand owner as the actual seller for less than $20 dollar on Amazon. Last, if you plan to tap into the power of garbage disposal for your tankless RO system, like in my case as I don’t have a dishwasher outlet under the sink, you might have to leave the wall switch for disposal always on after the installation (I actually added an outlet from the garbage disposal circuit), and add another separate switch for garbage disposal, such as a remote control switch, if you want the RO system to always have power without garbage disposal always running. Also the check valve in the bag with one yellow end and one blue end, and they never mentioned it anywhere in the installation manual, I added that to the drain line just to prevent possible back flow.

Instruction Manual is incorrect and they sent me the wrong parts
By Will on Reviewed in the United States on September 1, 2021
So I went to set it up, the instruction manual says a 1-1/2 inch hole is the minimum size for the faucet. Well that's not right, because I drilled that size and the faucet almost falls through. On top of that the tubing they sent me is to big to fit in the back of the unit? The instruction manual just says hook it up and go and does not show the correct interface that came with the tubes. It's really frustrating and irritating, because now I have tubes hanging out down under my sink and hole that's bigger than it needs to be. Is there anyone to contact? This is way overpriced for getting all that trouble. Minus stars are more appropriate.
