Easily One of the Best Surface Pro Devices

I purchased this unit (Surface Pro 7+ / 32GB RAM / 1TB SSD / 2.8Ghz Core-i7-1165G7) and received it earlier than expected. The description was not clear if it was new or refurbished condition, but found out that it was a MS certified refurbished unit upon receipt. At first I was having BSOD and frequent freezing of the OS. I tried the resetting back to factory using the internal restore partition. It did not clear up the constant freezing. I performed the factory reset three times and then created a new USB Flash restore drive using another Windows PC. Booting from the USB drive and running through the factory reset finally worked. I can only assume that there was some level of corruption with the internal drive's restore image or other issue. Now that the drive has been reset, I began installing all of my work software and it held up well. The fans did kick in several times but the sound level was not as high as I have read by others. It was much quieter than my MacBook Pro's fans. Now that it was finally setup, I can say having the Micro SD card slot adds some extra storage for files that I want to keep with me but not take up space on the main SSD. Using a SanDisk 1TB MicroSDXC card, it freed up the internal 1TB SSD for my main applications. The screen is sharp and clear, very little light bleeding around the top edges when I have all of the lights off and watching a dark-scene movie. Having a 3.5mm Headphone jack is also nice as some meetings I am on take an hour or more and with several of these meetings a day, I don't have to worry about recharging my Air Pods between meetings by using Apple's wired Ear Pod. Yes, the Apple old wired ear pods works great, the volume buttons don't adjust volume on the Surface/Windows but it is not a deal breaker. The new models are faster but for what I do, and with the expansion ports, I think this is the best combination of performance and expand-ability. It handles video calls without consuming too much CPU while working on several running programs, especially four browsers simultaneously with many tabs open. Writing code and ad-hoc SQL does not stress out this gen-11 Intel Core-I7, and the 32GB of RAM also helps in running a VM for testing. Using the Pen is useful for signing documents and note taking during meetings when I need to draw a quick diagram or flow process. I got the Surface Arc Mouse along with the Surface Type Cover Keyboard with the Fingerprint Scanner and both are great. The camera on the front works faster for logging into the OS and other services using Windows Hello but the fingerprint scanner is a nice backup. I would say this is the one to get.

The shipped item was used and locked by the previous owner. The return of this item still in process already for a week…the only return option is UPS pickup, which didn’t happen for the entire week
