VIVOSUN Clip Fan, 6" with 2-Speed, White

Blows air fairly well! I had mine hanging upside down (the only way I could attach it to a pole) and the oscillating broke but it was still one of the best fans I've had in my greenhouse. It rusted a tiny bit 8 months in. Not too loud.

The old version of the vivosun isolating fan works better & is more durable and last longer than the new green & black fans they connect to the controller brain box the old white one blow harder and last longer

Fan stopped sweeping and made clicking noise after a couple days. Im handy, so I fixed it myself. Remove clamp, remove front grill, remove fan blade, pop on/off knob off, remove sway pop up knob, remove screws near motor shaft and on back-> motor is out. remove two screws on figure 8 face place (note a third hole is present but has no screw. Carefully remove plate exposing gears. place motor on towel or in shallow bowl before removing plastic shaft held in place by 2 ball bearings with a spring between them. They will pop out. Extend the spring very little to add force to the balls that keep the sway knob from popping up during use. Reassemble balls and spring with a little white lithium grease. Attach face plate and I added a third screw to face place and a drop of thread lock. Complete reassembly of rest of the fan. This fix has worked 24X7 now for 2 months. The second fan did not have this issue.

Buy this fan if you want your house to burn down. I have been a frequent customer of Vivosun products for my grow spaces. I own several of these fans. The lifespan is not great but it’s longer than comparable brands on Amazon. Once they fail, I order another. By some miracle, I was in my grow tent when this particular fan started sparking. I ran to pull power but the fan still went up in flames. Thankfully, I had buckets of water for propagations right there. After one 5gal bucket of water, the fire still continued. It took multiple rounds of water to put out this fan. If I wasn’t there, my house would gone up in flames. This thing burned hot and QUICK. Couple that with the sparks, everything would have been on fire in minutes. PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS FAN. This is not an old fan, connections were approved by an electrician, there were no additional hazards that caused this fire. My assumption is the fan failed over night or that morning and because I hadn’t been in my grow tent, I didn’t notice. Power remained on so the fan over heated. I lost a few expensive plants but the situation could have been far worse. Do better Vivosun.

I returned this after 3 days. Within 5 mins of first installing it, there was a clicking noise that started due to slipping of the gears during oscillation. At first I thought it was because I had adjusted the angle of the fan a little downward so it covered the area I needed and maybe the weight from that was causing it. I then lowered the fan on the mounting pole and didn't put much tilt at all on it which worked for a day or so until I heard it start again. Either way, I need a fan that I can position how I need it (within reason of course) and this isn't the one. Giving this 3 stars due to some of the pros listed below. To provide a honest review, I will list some other pros and cons: 1. The airflow from the fan was perfect for what I needed in a 4x4 area even with it being a 6" fan. For further context, I mostly had it set to high. Completely satisfied with this. 2. The surprisingly quiet even on high. Completely satisfied with this. 3. Super easy to mount and never had any issues with slipping down the pole it was on which is 1/2" - 3/4" (I do not remember which). Completely satisfied with this. 4. Power cord was long enough for what I needed. Completely satisfied with this. Cons: 1. Obviously the clicking an oscillation not working noted above. 2. The clamp used to mount it has rubber inserts on either side of the clip to hold it in place when mounted but one of these rubber inserts were already laying in the box when I opened it and I dont see a way to install it back other than glue. When I put it in the clamp and closed it when mounting, it stayed in place but fell out every time I opened the clamp to move it. 3. The tensioning screw that holds the fan and mount together has a plastic nob that tightens on one side and a nut on the other side that it screws into. The small nut will fall out if you remove the tensioning screw.

Works well

Got this oscillating fan for the Gorilla 3x3 grow tent. The fan that comes with the Gorilla tent did not ocellate and needed better air flow for my grow. This fan came the same day as ordered and was a welcome addition for my plants. The issues with better air flow improved my crop and they are looking much better. The oscillating sweep is very good and covers the entire width of the tent. The durability maybe an issue. It's oscillating switch on the top of the fan will not stay in oscillating mode and clicks and jerks the smooth movement. Besides that, the fan has done what I needed, but I'd get a better-quality fan the next time/
