Wow! This is quite possibly the best smart phone ever made.
By Gregory Ramos on Reviewed in the United States on February 22, 2022
I have had this phone for about one week now and could not be happier. This is literally the best smart phone I've ever owned. It could very well be the category killer that the BlackBerry was, then the iPhone.Let's start with what's new. Obviously, the form factor. Folded up, the phone fits in any pocket. Wear jeans? You will no longer have to choose between your phone slipping out of your back pocket or fitting uncomfortably in the front. Phone cases will be a thing of the past, as the clamshell design provides all the protection you need. When closed, you still have access to notifications, your camera, clockface, and more. You will also have a brand new way of using your phone in its "laptop" configuration. Serving as its own stand, you can set your phone on the desk at the perfectly readable angle. What's the same? Samsung's state of the art technology. Professional camera controls that Apple can't emulate. Crystal clear display. Power sharing. When paired with the BlackBerry Launcher, you will have unparalleled power and organization at your fingertips. (iPhone users are stunned when they see my phone in operation). Samsung has retained the fingerprint sensor, moving it from the display to the power button. Great move and still the best way to open your phone when stuck with a mask on. The facial recognition has also improved, so when you aren't wearing a mask, the phone usually opens almost immediately when you open the cover.Where are the compromises? I have only noticed two. The battery is smaller (by about 20%). I have Qi chargers all over my house and office, and I have a pretty good habit of putting my phone on one when not in use. If you're still plugging in to charge, you may need to find a different way to manage your charge. (Hint: I keep my old, fully-charged S20 in my backpack and can use that to power share, if needed). Also, there are only two camera lenses instead of three. If you regularly flip between all three lenses, you may feel constrained.

DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE... WARRANTY NIGHTMARE
By Nicholas Cianciolo on Reviewed in the United States on August 8, 2022
I will start by saying that at first, I loved this phone. It was awesome. 3 months in, I opened the phone to answer a call, and I had trouble with the touch screen. The top portion of the phone was not responsive to touch. I also noticed that the area inside the fold was no longer displaying any of the screen. Upon very close inspection, It looked like there were tiny cracks under the screen protector at the fold location.I called Samsung and explained the issue in detail. I was assured that it was to be repaired under warranty. Two weeks later, I am contacted and told that it is no longer under warranty due to physical inspection. I have spent the last week on numerous calls, to figure out why this is no longer under warranty. I was told that the inspection showed a slight divot under the camera. There was no such divot when the phone left my possession. I took extremely high resolution photos of every angle of my phone before I packaged it and shipped it to Samsung, so I am 100% confident of this statement. I reviewed every photo, and there was not one scuff, scratch or "divot" anywhere on the phone. All of the surfaces were in mint condition.I asked to see a photo of the "damage" that they were referring to. Conveniently, Samsung "can't" provide me with proof of the damage... just their word. This is unbelievable. This phone is 90 days old. Upon further digging, I am now finding hundreds of cases of the same type of treatment from Samsung to their customers with similar type complaints on these fold-able devices. Buyer beware!

Wonderful innovative phone with a top-tier gimmick

The phone works absolutely perfectly. The fingerprint identification on the phone is just as good as the iPhone. The gimmick behind the phone is pretty cool too, just to be able to fold your phone and have to put it in your pocket is amazing due to the fact that it will be hard for someone to snatch your phone or for your phone to fall out of your pocket. The camera is absolutely amazing on the phone, the phone it’s self comes with a screen protector already on it. Also I switched from the iPhone To this phone and I do have to say it is a breath of fresh air to go to a phone that’s different. Most Apple users will shoot this phone down due to Brand supremacy, But I do not regret my decision going to the flip three. Hope my review helps
I wanted to love this phone

Now step back. At first, based on my headline, you would think that I am about to bash on this phone. Well, I am but first I wanted to talk about what did I love about this phone.First, of course, is its foldable screen. Now I will say that this is purely, beyond a shadow of a doubt, a gimmick. It doesn't make the phone better. It doesn't make it faster. It's 100% just to have a foldable phone. That said, it does drastically reduce the size that it takes inside your pocket. Not to mention its sleek design given off by the smooth surface of the outside. This is quite a beautiful phone.HOWEVER, I have doubts that this phone had gone through much testing or that this technology is not ready for such daily use as not even a year later; To no one's surprise (I guess besides my own), the phone's lower half screen had completely turned a solid color. A whole grand down the drain. There was nothing I could do.Sure the amount of personalization was cool. Having a smaller screen on the outside when folded to see notifications without having to open the phone was neat. It even lets you add pictures or even gifs onto it which was insanely cool.Unfortunately, the fact of the matter is that this phone is a gamble. Unless you're one of those sheeple who buy a new phone every time one of these phone companies breath, I suggest you look for a cheaper alternative.Quite the shame too, as this was probably my favorite Galaxy phone and I have been a Galaxy connoisseur for almost a decade now.
Most ingenious phone on the market

This is by far and away the best phone on the market. When opened it is actually larger than my last phone and when closed, it easily fits in any pocket. I-Phone has nothing like it. The phone is fast, easily read and takes dynamite photographs. Its' only downfall is the battery life which seems to be slightly shorter than my last phone, that said, it has not been an issue. Apple beware, you have nothing like this!

I have not purchased a "new" phone in many years. I was waiting for something new instead of a slight upgrade with a high price tag. I have replaced phones with used "newer" phones until now.If you miss the compact nature of the older style flip phones, you will appreciate this design. I watched a lot of YouTube videos before deciding to take the leap and purchase this phone. It was well worth it!I don't find the line in the middle of the screen to be an issue at all. The hinge is holding up well. Those were my top concerns when making this purchase. My daughter liked my phone so much that she had to have one as a graduation present. I highly recommend!
Love it, so far.

As I just received the phone on March 21st, I've not had a chance to explore all that it has to offer, yet. So far, the battery seems to be great, but I am not glued to my phone, downloading music and videos like some owners. Similarly, I have not toyed around with facial/fingerprint recognition, but will be giving it a try in the near future. I bought this phone for its compactness and am accepting of the crease across the fold line of the screen. I use it primarily for absolute necessities, not principally for social interaction.

I really like how slim and light it is, the fingerprint reader on the side is way better than the on screen reader.Battery life sucked the first 2 weeks but now is just as other devies i've had, I don't even worry about it anymore. The speakers sound louder than my previous device (s20 ultra). Overall, i love the Zflip3
Very poor camera quality and factory screen protector coming off at 6 months.

Update 6 months after purchase- dropping a star from 3 to 2.The camera quality really is poor. 80% of the time the camera cannot focus. Even when it looks relatively clear on view, it comes out fuzzy. "Night mode" is a joke- it will literally take up to a full minute or more to take a shot, all the while giving message to hold phone steady. Additionally, the hinge is getting loose and it seems likely to faily in under a year. And finally, the factory installed screen protector is now coming off. It started at very edge at fold, and now runs the entire length of the fold. It makes a terrible cracking sound when closing phone. Apparently the 5-6 month mark is the life of the screen protector, as I've been seeing many posts about it coming off around that time. Not even sure what to do, as some say the warranty will be voided and there is risk of damaging the screen if you replace it yourself, but I am not willing to pay $$$ to get a new screen protector put on a 6 month old phone. Long story short- compact size is great. The rest is not even mediocre. The price is ridiculous for the function. Wait until someone comes out with a better executed version of a flip phone rather than waste your money on this one.Origiinal review:Was hoping this phone would be better than reviews. Unfortunately, it's not. The battery life is poor. The camera is not very good. And the calling function has terrible hiccups that make it impossible to hang up. No kidding. Also a pain to turn off phone. Why do you need to press TWO buttons simultaneously to shut it off??To start- battery is garbage. And in the two months I've had this phone, it's gotten markedly worse. Initially it would last all day when I was out with GPS on. Now it runs down the battery to 50% or less in a few hours. I don't stream videos, use data heavy apps, or anything. Yet the battery decreases noticeable in an hour just with a few texts or looking at facebook. When using for zoom meetings, forget it. A 40 minute zoom session will knock battery down to 50% even on home wifi. Terrible. The camera is not good. Night vision is terrible, blurry, and incredibly slow to take photos. You can't snap a pic in low light scenarios- the camera tells you to wait as it does a 5 second or so countdown. If you don't wait the picture is blurry. Actually, even if you DO wait, the pic is often blurry. And forget close ups. If you want to take a detailed photo of a flower, for example, 90% of the time the pic will come out very blurry. You must have the exact angle/light to get something not blurry. The colors are also off. Way too green most of the time. Just trash. Then there's the hiccups. I have had repeated issue of phone dialing, I try to hang up , and the dialer/phone screen disappears but the call continues! There is NO way to retrieve the phone screen when this happens. Today it happened again, but this time I didn't even know because I thought I'd hung up. I went back to dialer screen and tried dialing another number before I realized I was still on the call I thought I'd disconnected. There was literally NO way to hang up on the first call other than to restart my phone. This has happened numerous times. I use my phone for work, so imagine how profession that looks. I have NEVER had this problem with any other phone. WTH??Meanwhile the most recent update seems to have made battery life even worse. Oh, and the phone decided to update in the middle of my work day. I didn't even realize it until I reached to make a call and found it was rebooting and then took however long to install the updates. As for the folding aspect. Yes, I do like that this phone folds and fits in my pocket. However, I got this phone in December and I can already notice the difference in the hinge. Where before it was very firm/solid, it is now quite loose, and the halves are not totally aligned when folded closed. I don't abuse the phone, I don't try to flip it.I wish I was still within the return window. This phone is not worth the nearly $1000 paid.

lolmy first review was denied for inappropriate content.. the only thing the review said was the phone was terribly under served by its battery. so, i'm going to assume samsung is pushing amazon to deny negative reviews because they don't want their shiny phone to have a bad rap for a bad battery.all i do with this phone is text message, even so it doesn't last a single 8 hour shift on one charge, that's how over powered the processor is and how under powered the battery is. it's easily 10x more phone than i need. if it weren't for 5G towers killing my old phone, i would never have upgraded. i picked the flip 3 because it actually fits in my pockets where all other cell phones don't. maybe once the AI figures out what tools i don't use and shuts them all down it will get marginally better battery life, but i don't expect it to suddenly start needing to only be charged once a week like my 5 year old phone.it's a very pretty phone. i like the flip design. i like the idea of the cover screen though it's currently under utilized by most apps that could benefit from it. but if i have to charge a tool twice a day just to use it ... i'm not going to use it, it's going to get thrown in a corner and forgotten because half the time when i need it it's on its charger instead of in my pocket.if they were so limited in their battery, they should have chosen a more appropriate processor, they should have reduced the amount of bloatware they pre-loaded on the thing that we cannot remove. i genuinely wonder if anyone anywhere actually uses samsung's proprietary software or does it exist simply to annoy most users and fill their phones with junk apps that we have to root the phone to remove? inquiring minds want to know!update:after about three weeks of operation the battery saver AI hasn't achieved any significant reduction in battery consumption over what i'd originally gone through and done. so i'm currently getting roughly 6-7 hours of phone use on a light day, with 3-4 hours of phone use on a busy day with one charge. not ideal.the other thing i've realized with this phone is that samsung missed a golden marketing opportunity with sizing this phone. if they'd made it a tad wider so that the width of a CC fit across the phone when it was folded it would completely eliminate my, and presumably many other people's, need for having a wallet and a phone. there are quite a few cases that turn this phone into a purse or a wallet, however none of them work terribly well because the phone is just shy of fitting a CC either vertically or horizontally. the fold has glorious phone case wallet replacements, however the fold doesn't fit in my pocket, this does. it would have been lovely to do an all in one with this and have my phone and wallet together.
