Sleek Keyboard/Case that works seamlessly with my IPad Air
By Keena S. on Reviewed in the United States on August 23, 2023
I bought this case because I wanted something that would protect my IPad as I bring it with me a lot and obviously you're protecting a large investment. It has worked flawless so far since I've been using it for a few months now. PROS: It's a heavy duty case, I don't worry about if my IPad is protected enough. Love the spot in the close flap for the Apple Pen and the room it leaves if I want to leave the pen attached to the IPad. It is functional in many different positions and love that I can elevate it a bit when it's sitting on my lap. The illuminated keys are the keyboard are a nice touch and being able to have a touch pad for a mouse is a win. It really has everything I need and more. CONS: With being so heavy duty, it is heavy. It adds a lot of weight to my IPad Air. But it's a trade-off as I know how solid it is. The only very minor glitchy thing I've noticed is if I have the IPad on my lap and try and use the keyboard, with the uneven surface it can go back and forth between the on screen keyboard as it's not sure which one I'm trying to use. Not a big deal at all. Price point is not cheap, but you get what you pay for. I highly recommend this if you want all the things and want it feel like you're on a laptop sometimes. It's high quality and will protect your investment. And it should, for the price you pay.

Doesn't hold up well in some ways
By MarbellaSD on Reviewed in the United States on June 10, 2025
I liked this case--until I didn't. I am writing this review in June 2025; first ordered in 2021 but had an exchange while still i warranty; can't recall exactly why. I tried several less expensive keyboard cases and when they failed quickly, I decided to upgrade. And while this is a heavy case, it offers good protection, has backlit keys, and a function key row--all of which I like. But in the pat year or so I have become increasingly frustrated with this case, even though I still have the iPad. It stops working properly a lot--the space bar doesn't respond so all your words run together and you have to revert to the on-screen keyboard. Usually the solution is a firmware update and one or more reboots--but lately I seem to need to do this once or twice a week, which is a pain. And sometimes it's not that and takes a few reboots to get it to work. Plus the lettering on several of the keys wore off a while ago; I put up with it but with the increasing malfunctions opted to get the Apple Magic Keyboard instead for the new iPad I just ordered, instead of Logitech again. . Maybe I shouldn't expect a $150 item to last more than a few years....

Makes your ipad like a Surface - a superb add-on!

This is a brilliant add-on to the iPad. It’s SO much better than every similar case for Samsung tablets - and I’ve tried them all - that it makes my iPad my go-to device over other tablets and computers. The fit is pretty perfect on the iPad. Nice and snug. The keyboard attaches really well - about as good as a Surface which is pretty much the gold standard for me. It doesn’t wobble with the iPad on your lap. The texture of this earlier-generation case is MUCH better than the newer “m2/m3” variant. That one is super smooth and slippery. WHY? The older generation has almost a denimy feel to it so it has a great amount of grip. I don’t use it in particular dirty or dusty environments so it stays pretty clean for me, despite the texture. The keyboard is super to type on - again, about as good as a Surface. The backlight is great. The trackpad is also nice, but I really don’t like the weird little dot that iPads have when you connect an external trackpad or mouse. It doesn’t move well, and isn’t precise. That’s not a failing of the Logitech case, though, it’s just iPad OS’s crappy mouse pointer. The kickstand works perfectly and requires just the right about of force to open. I wish this case had a clip or something to hold an Apple Pencil or Logitech crayon but it’s still 5 stars even without that. Every other case for a Samsung tablet is 1 star by comparison.
Great value, light-weight and durable.

I love using the iPad with a keyboard. This is my 3rd Logitech keyboard purchase. I used one with my iPad Mini and then wore it out with my full-size iPad and had to replace.

I was initially sceptical considering the reviews. But I took a chance as the probability was low that I would get a defective product. So before considering the logitec combo touch I considered my needs which I advise everyone to do. I use my apple pencil alot as in half of my time working. And for me to get the Apple magic keyboard would not be ideal as I need to play and work on my ipad on a flat surface and I need my ipad to be protected at all times which the Magic keyboards does not provide. So when I saw the Logitec Combo touch the flexibility it offered was exactly what I needed. I was able to go to university without my Macbook and just take my ipad with. I am able to do questions ( the scenario on my ipad) without the keyboard being attached and highlight and make notes, then when I'm done I connect the keyboard and make notes. It's that easy. The cover for the iPad is really great quality. Very strong rubber that goes over the edges I'd the ipad which proves much more protection. 9/10 Only issue is the volume buttons on the ipad air 5 might be abit bigger and the rubber is adding abit of pressure but not too much. The keyboard feels great and really comfortable to type on. I'm still getting use to it but so far so good. I think the enter button is abit small compared to a normal laptop which makes me press the forward slash abit more mistaking it for the enter button (return). But one can get use to is. The brightness on the keyboard is awesome. The top row functions really helps save time and allows you to be more efficient in your workflow and productivity. Makes it feel like a normal macbook with the touch bar features of volume and keyboard brightness as well as screen brightness. Only annoying double edged sword about the keyboard is that its adaptive brightness. So when it's dark it will automatically allow you to adjust the brightness to the max or min. But when it detects light it will automatically switch the backlight keys off. Which doesn't affect my workflow as I can still see the keyboard keys perfectly well. It's just abit annoying but I guess it helps conserve battery incase one forgets to switch of the backlight from the previous night. It connects very well and very snappy. I suggest if you get it ,open you ipad from the on/off finger scanner on your ipad. I wish it had a strap to keep your apple pencil in place when in your bag I guess they didnt put it on because when you disconnect your ipad from the keyboard the flap will just be hanging, and if you were able to fold it back then when you put your ipad on a flat surface it wont be flat it would be wobbly. Overall my review so far using it for 3 days. I am not using it as much at the moment but until I make a further review this still stands as my opinion. Thanks alot

I wanted a keyboard for my iPad that would detach when I just wanted to use the flat tablet in its case, and this does exactly what I wanted. The main case is protective and has a nice feel to it in your hand. The keyboard is well-designed, with a pleasant backlight and a good typing experience (and I'm very picky about keyboard switches). Great for using your iPad in bed because you can use the kickstand portion to adjust it however you need. Overall very pleased and I've had it for about eight months now with no issues. That being said, I worry about eventual weardown of the kickstand, whether that be in the magnets that hold it to the case or in the "fabric" that gets wrinkled when you push it up. So far so good, but I can see it being an issue in a few years.
I Love, Love, Love This, Especially Compared to Older Logitech Designs

I received an iPad Air 4th Generation for Christmas, and I needed a keyboard case as soon as possible because I planned to take it with me on a trip. Since I used a Logitech Air keyboard for my older iPad, I gravitated toward this. I wasn't willing to pay the premium price for the Magic case that Apple sells, but I still needed something durable and easy-to-use. This keyboard case is everything I had hoped for -- and more. Note: Make sure you order the one for your model since this product page is for both iPad Air and iPad Pro models. I love that I don't have to charge the keyboard since it runs off the iPad's battery, using the contact points created for the Magic keyboard case -- that was my biggest surprise. The magnetic flap keeps the case securely closed and can be flipped back behind the iPad when the case is open. The stand in back props it up (in landscape mode only.) When the case is closed the flap magnetically folds flat against the back. The touchpad works perfectly, and the function keys work as expected. I especially like that I can return to the home screen without swiping up -- I just have to press a button. The only aspect I don't like -- and it's not enough to deduct even a half-star -- is how wobbly the connection between iPad and keyboard is when I place it on my lap. Older Logitech keyboards, because you lifted the iPad and placed it on a track, kept the iPad from moving. I honestly cannot imagine, though, how this version can fix that since it would make it more difficult to open and close. Yes, this cover makes the iPad much heavier, but that's to be expected. I love the gray textured fabric-like material (vinyl?) that gives it a warm look. This case is worth every penny. Although it's not inexpensive, it's much more cost-effective than the one Apple sells. -- Debbie Lee Wesselmann
Three years and still works great

Been using Logitech products for years and my expectations when buying a product of theirs is high. This did not disappoint. Consider this review a long term use review. At the time of this writing I have had this product for three years now, use it every day in all its configurations and it has stood the test of time. The thing is still like new, nothing has worn out or given me any grief. The only negative if you can call it that is that it does add some weight. It’s not a light product but it’s built so well that the hand off is acceptable.
Best versatile iPad keyboard/case

The Logitech Combo Touch has been a great case/keyboard combination for my iPad Air so far! The things I enjoy about the Combo Touch include the great typing feel, quality materials that don’t get dirty easily, the function key row, and the large trackpad. The main selling point, and the biggest advantage that this has over keyboards like the Magic Keyboard is its versatility. If you want to type and use it as a laptop, you can. If you want to use the iPad in tablet mode, or draw, just detach the keyboard and either put it away or attach it backwards. The kickstand in the back feels very sturdy and has a very wide range of viewing angles, especially when compared to the Apple Magic Keyboard. The last thing that is a big pro is the ability to protect the iPad without keeping the keyboard attached, since the combo touch is basically a nice bumper case with a really nice keyboard. I only have two minor issues with the Combo Touch: You can’t really stand the iPad up in vertical orientation. Also, typing with it on your lap is slightly less convenient than with something like the Magic Keyboard, but it is definitely possible once you figure out how to balance it because the keyboard is quite solid and the hinge on the kickstand is. In fact, I wrote this review using the combo touch keyboard on my lap. In conclusion, the Logitech Combo Touch is a great choice for students in HS/College, or anyone looking for a less expensive, more versatile, and more protective keyboard than the Magic Keyboard.

I bought this case at the exact time that I bought my tablet. It's served me pretty well, and is only missing one key-cap. (I wish the rugged folio was compatible.) But today and yesterday its started having really bad connection problems, and has since broken altogether. I *would* buy a new one, except that the price has gone up by like 40$, and I'm just not gonna bother. I don't want to get another and immediately lose another stupid key-cap. TLDR: Worked for 3 years, can lose keycaps if you are not careful, nice overall.
