Excellent Multi-tasking Kitchen Workhorse! Love It!!!
By slowbird on Reviewed in the United States on May 6, 2025
I don't know why I waited so long to get one of these, but I guess I'm glad I did, because we absolutely love the air fryer feature (another thing we never hopped on the bandwagon for!)! I've made stews, chianti braised shortribs, soups, chicken nuggets, hand cut fries, and all kinds of other stuff in it. It's just wonderful. All the parts are super easy to clean and dishwasher safe except for the outside body, which wipes down super easily. Once you get confident in using it, it's super easy to use and has heaps of settings and functions. The pressure cooking and air fryer features mean your food is ready in a fraction of the time it takes to cook conventionally, and the food tastes a million times better than microwaved food. I don't even own a microwave! The instruction manual is RUBBISH, so zero stars for that. Luckily, I'm a resourceful kind of gal, so I went straight to the mother of all video tutorials and watched SEVERAL videos about how to use it before I ever turned it on. I'm so glad I did, because it made me feel so much more confident to have a sweet kitchen grandma there to walk me step by step through what everything is, how to use it, which buttons to push when, how to do the water test, and natural release vs quick release, and when to use which one. Seriously, take the time to watch a bunch of videos if you're getting your first one, it'll make you feel so much more confident. I'm super glad I did! My friend has recommended the Milk Street Instant Pot Cookbook multiple times, so I plan on getting it. She said she used it almost every day and she's a great cook, so I trust her judgement! This is a sizeable device with two lids (pressure and air fryer), so think about where you plan on storing it ahead of time! If you're hesitant, don't be. Just watch videos before you use it, and you'll be off to a running start! There are some excellent videos that really break everything down into super manageable information. This is a bit of an investment, but as long as you take a little bit of time to become comfortable with it and learn how to use it, it's well worth the money spent.

Odd limitations on functionality
By x64 on Reviewed in the United States on June 1, 2024
Instant Pot seems to have a very large number slight variants of essentially the same product. Each of which differing from the others by the inclusion or exclusion of one or the other features or smart programs. This particular model does have temperature setting buttons but they do not allow going below 180F and they cannot be used in conjunction with the keep warm or slow cook buttons. One can only find this out by buying the product and experimenting. The 9 in 1 model in the DUO line does allow incubation and low temperature cooking but in the DUO Crisp line it doesn't. Lots time and effort wasted on buying it, trying it and returning it...
