Perfect Beginner Telescope for Kids—Fun, Educational, and Easy to Use!
By Amazon Customer on Reviewed in the United States on July 30, 2025
I bought this ToyerBee telescope as a birthday gift for my 9-year-old daughter who’s recently become obsessed with space—and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. This is a perfect beginner telescope for kids who are curious about the night sky but need something simple, sturdy, and fun to use. Setup was super easy. My daughter and I put it together in about 10 minutes with no tools, just by following the picture instructions. It’s lightweight enough that she can carry it herself, and everything fits neatly into the included case when we’re done. That already made her feel like a “real scientist.” The views are impressive! The first night, we used the larger eyepiece to look at the moon, and the reaction on her face said it all—she gasped out loud when she saw the craters and shadows. Later in the week, we tried higher magnification to spot Jupiter, and we could actually see a few of its moons lined up beside it! It’s amazing how much you can see even from the backyard. It also comes with a phone adapter, so we were able to take photos of what we saw through the eyepiece. It took a little patience to line everything up just right, but once we did, she was thrilled to snap pictures and share them with her friends. The little remote clicker makes it easier to take photos without bumping the telescope. Some tips for parents: - The tripod is a bit short, so we set it on a patio table for a better angle. - It helps to start with the lowest magnification first (the 20mm eyepiece) and then work your way up. High magnification looks cool, but it’s harder for kids to keep steady. - Be sure to use it on clear nights away from bright lights—stars and planets really pop when it’s dark out. Overall, this telescope is the perfect mix of education and excitement. It gave my daughter her first close-up view of space and sparked hours of fun learning about planets, constellations, and how telescopes work. She even brought it to her science club meeting and gave a little demo. It’s affordable, durable, and makes a great gift for any kid interested in science or space. Highly recommended for young explorers!

Decent for the price

I’m impressed with the picture quality this displays through the glass. It is light and kind of difficult to get high off the ground, and not very sturdy. comes with a few different lenses for seeing the moon.
