Be careful with refurbished products
By Bob G on Reviewed in the United States on March 4, 2024
I never thought I'd be writing this kind of review because I've always had good luck with refurbished products, But there's always a first time. I did a lot of research on projectors before deciding this one. I had hoped to find a projector around $1000 but found myself enticed by projectors with features that pushed the price to around $1500. That is, until I found this projector in refurbished condition on Amazon. The price ($949) was outstanding and my only concern was that it was not Amazon that refurbished the projector. The projector retailor offered a 1 year warranty. I took a chance because I figured I would find any problems it might have within a year. It was delivered quickly and I immediately tried it out. To make a long story short, the unit had no blemishes and everything worked perfectly except for the dongle that this projector uses to stream internet content, thereby making the projector a Smart device. I contacted the retailor who supposedly refurbished the unit and then sold it through Amazon. They wanted me to contact the manufacturer before attempting to help me. It appears to me that there was no refurbishing done and that their one year warranty was a facade. I am currently in the process of getting a dongle replacement through the manufacturer, even though I am not the original owner of the projector. So far, the manufacturer has been very helpful When this story reaches an end, I will update this review to let you readers know how it turned out. I still give this unit a four starrating because with the exception of the dongle problem, everything else is perfect and this projector is better than I could have ever expected. And given that this unit has two unused HDMI ports on the rear, I can input a Amazon Fire Stick or a ROKU stick and get the same result as the BenQ dongle would have gotten. But I believe a warranty is a warranty and that a refurbished item sold in "excellent" should look and work like new.

It has dot from the projector. I checked lens but I think it has something inside the lens. I can not fix myself.
