Compared to the 7 year-old units these replace, these are superior in three ways. First, they use magnets instead of just glue pads to attach under cabinets. Second, the light is brighter (though a bit more blue). Third, they have two modes: automatic, where they sense movement and turn on, then off again when no more movement, and hand-wave where you pass your hand below the unit to turn it on and off. The hand-wave mode also allows brightness adjustment by hand position below the sensor. Battery life (after a charge) is longer in hand wave, about the same in auto mode.
