Decent for the price.

Sturdy and well made as far as I can tell. If it doesn't rust I'll buy more of this brand in the future. Love that it came with full size pans. I've been having some trouble with that recently. Everything was half pans.

Annoying forced organization with difficult to remove pans
By MoniqueDC on Reviewed in the United States on January 30, 2024
I was greatly disappointed to find that the marvelous metal palette very similar to this (Impresa brand) was no longer available. This palette is identical in structure: size, the various folding pieces and the way it folds up for storage. What is not similar and is the reason for my downgrading to 3 stars, is that the insert for the pans is rigid, difficult to remove the pans one inserted (which may loosen a bit with wear as the metal grips on the side are used) and there is therefore, no magnetic pieces to allow you ultimate freedom in the way you design your palette. I like the way my former palette allowed me maximum flexibility in organizing a mix of full and half pans. The former palette did not have an insert with clips that require you to conform to their organizational structure. You could actually store MORE colors than this one will allow. I do not like the struggle to remove and return pans. I do not like the loss of space taken up by the "clipping" sections. It is much more rigid and reduces (although not by much) the total number of pans I can put in it. My preference when painting is NOT to use the pan while in the palette, but to remove the colors I wish to use and return them when I am finished painting. While I can do this with the MyArtTool palette, it is much more difficult. Hence, the term annoying. I have been seeking the former palette for months to no luck. I am not yet decided if I am going to keep this one or not. Yes, it has all the features of the former palette, but it is restrictive, more difficult to remove pans, and, without the magnetic choice and with the forced organization of the "clip in" structure, it is much less useful. I got this one as a compromise when I could not find the other palette (searched multiple sources). I am disappointed and may just seek a 3rd alternative. (smaller palettes with magnetic options - although that would be more clutter because I would have to have 2 smaller magnetic palettes to hold the same amount of paint choices. I outline these concerns in the hopes that the manufacturer will pay attention and offer a similar palette like the former, more customizable magnetic choice.
