Great Customer Service

This is going to be a 2 for 1 review. I bought my X8 back in January. It was reliable and efficient for 6 months. Suction, even on normal levels, was excellent. It picked up a surprising amount of dirt, even on what I thought was a clean floor. It really does pack the dirt into the bin allowing you to go at least a few days of running daily cleanings before emptying. Every 2-3 weeks I take it apart and blow everything out to keep it functioning perfect. On the normal setting, the noise is tolerable and you'll be able to watch tv or talk on the phone without issue. My only annoyance was that every few weeks it must get hung up on something just for a moment and it causes the map to get distorted. It doesn't really matter as far as the vacuum is concerned, but it annoyed me every time I looked at the map in the app. Overall though, performance, noise levels and function are far superior to my previous vacuum robot. Unfortunately, about 6 months in, my battery started to fail. It would run for about 20 minutes then just stop dead in it's track. I'd put it back on charge, it would power back up and show maybe 40% charge. I'd send it back out and it would stop dead again within a couple minutes. I contacted customer service and they informed me that they had no batteries in stock but I could buy one on Amazon and they'd refund the cost. However, none were available on Amazon either. I waited a few days to see if they'd show up, but no such luck. I contacted customer service again and they offered to upgrade me to the L35+. I returned my x8 and received the L35+ a few days later. I've been using the L35+ for probably 2-3 weeks now. I think your specific needs will dictate if that's an upgrade. It has mopping capabilities and also a base station with self emptying. Because of the water chamber, the dust collection bin is considerably smaller than the x8. It's not really an issue though since it's self emptying. That will require you to replace the collection bag every couple months. It also doesn't have the feature that packs the dust into the bin like the x8, but again, not really an issue. It does seem to navigate better and almost never touches a wall where the x8 did pretty frequently. It seems to have less suction power overall compared to the x8 also. I've not tried mopping with the L35+ just yet but in generally most of these robots are just dragging a wet microfiber around your house. Better than nothing, but don't expect miracles. So, overall, if you need mopping or want the self emptying feature, the L35+ is a fine machine. If you only need a vacuum and don't mind the little bit of extra maintenance, the x8 is a much better choice.

Worthless after 18 months
By RS on Reviewed in the United States on July 26, 2024
Update: After the company gave me copy pasted response of checking pins, cleaning and charging for 6 hours, they told me that there isn't anything they can do as it is past the 12 month warranty period. There is a reason the warranty is only 12 months. It craps out soon after that. After reading the recent reviews, it seems this is a common issue with this product. My oldest robot vacuums before this one are 7 years and 5 years old. They still work, but we moved into a bigger, 2-story home so we bought a third vacuum. The vacuum works great for the few months. I was very satisfied with the performance and the price of this product in the beginning. I did notice that over time, the battery performance declined significantly. That wasn't a huge issue for me because it's 1 of 3 vacuums so I don't need it to clean my whole house. At the 18th month mark, it has started randomly just stopping mid-clean. It has gotten to the point where it is unable to perform one full cleaning session. The battery just dies without completing the cleaning session. It doesn't even attempt to go back to the dock to recharge. I reached out to the company and they sent me a bunch of instructions on cleaning the pins and charging the vacuum for 6 hours. This is ridiculous because we make sure the battery is fully charged before each cleaning session. It is plugged in for a full 24+ hours before each cleaning session. It is not a maintenance issue either because as mentioned, we have a 7 year old and a 5 year old vacuum and they both work to this day. Save your money and invest in a better one. You get what you pay for with this one.
