Babish 6.5" Santoku Kitchen Knife

These are serrated steak knives. I feel like that should be the first thing I mention and front and center, since the product description is completely silent on that subject. I like many others who apparently purchased this product, believed that the knives were completely straight edge. They are not. There are several reasons why I believed this to be the case. First, when I searched for "straight edge" knives, these were high up on the search results. Second, the description is completely silent on whether it is serrated or not. Third, the product picture *looks* like a straight edge because the resolution on the photo is crappy, and blurs out the small serrations. Fourth, the description talks about the edge angle, which is something only applicable to straight edge knives. Fifth, there are no customer photos showing the knives. So clear photos of the serrations are not present. Sixth, ALL of the product reviews for the Babish line of knives are lumped together, so without digging more, you can't immediately see someone complaining about this. That said, the construction of the knives is not bad. Steel is what you would expect for a discount knife, but the serrations are a deal breaker. I'd rather spend $20 extra and get the same steel without the serrations. Just a very deceptive practice to not include that information, while at the same time boast about a 13 degree cutting edge. I'll be returning these, and I hope they fix the description to include the very important (perhaps the most important) fact about these knives.
