10 stars! 5 for the vacuum + 5 for the packaging

~One-year update: I LOVE THIS THING. Everything I said below last year is still 1000% true. This thing is still going strong like it's brand new. It is still freaking beautiful. I use it 1-2x a day, every single day. It's so easy to take off the stand and maneuver quickly, so I'm motivated to actually use it all the time. I'll often do one quick pass just for the corners, like along the toe kick in the kitchen and bathroom where cat hair tumbleweeds manifest like whack-a-moles, and then do another pass in the evening with the full brush roll part to get the dirt from the day. Somehow the canister is full of dust and cat hair every single time, even though this is a no-shoes house and the windows are always closed to keep out the desert dust. The canister is indeed small but I realized that I do not care. I just start with it taking it from the charger base and vacuum from front to back of the house, flip it open and take 8 seconds to dump the debris into the trash can, and go put it back on the charger. That's actually ideal because it's interesting to see how much stuff you picked up in that pass instead of combining cleaning sessions of dirt. My scaredy-cat cat will now get close enough to sniff it while it's running. Also, I have to this day, never manually removed ONE SINGLE STRAND of hair from the brush roll. This is the best vacuum ever and I'll buy it again in a heartbeat when/if this one dies. Lastly, I have taken just the handheld part and the cord part of the charger on campervan trips like I'd anticipated; to the beach with tons of sand and to the desert with red dirt getting in every crevice of your soul, and it has been AMAZING. The battery lasts for the entire trip so you technically could even go without the charge cord if needed. I can't believe I ever used to use a broom and dust pan. I timed it once and it takes ~1 minute to clean the whole van floorspace, ~2 minutes if I do the front seat area too. Knowing what I know now, I would have even bought this specifically for vanlife or as a dedicated car vacuum. I actually think they sell just the handheld part. It's so slim it fits completely under a van or car front seat. I also took it on a long roadtrip in my car and it was awesome to clean up road trip chip crumbs and, you guessed it, MORE cat hair. So much cat hair. _____ I just got it today and I'm in LOVE. Yes, with a vacuum. I'll start with the packaging because I'm THAT excited about it. When I got my shipment I mentally prepared for all the styrofoam dust that would be floating around my home and plastic tape I'd have to go find scissors for. And the guilt of ordering something new knowing I'm creating so much packaging waste that is going to end up in a landfill. NOPE. Everything aside from the vacuum itself was paper; 100% compostable or recyclable. There was one single twist tie on the cord, and three info stickers that aren't paper, that's IT. Even the tape is paper! And let's talk about the stickers for a minute. If you've ever spent wayyy too much time trying to get ugly sticker goo off your new thing, this one's for you! The sticker even tells you where to peel, and leaves NO residue! Hallelujah. As for the vacuum itself: this thing is my new best friend. Sorry, Brittney, you've been replaced. My house is so clean now that I'm annoyed because I have no more excuse to use my new vacuum today. I normally opt for corded things because battery powered ones just aren't powerful enough. Nope. I was caught off guard how powerful it is. If you use the hand vac part it'll suction itself to the floor if you let it. This means I'm actually going to use it, since I'm no longer tethered to how far a cord will reach and have to find an outlet with each room. I am now free to move about the house! (said in my airplane captain voice) It works perfectly on my woven rugs and hardwood floors. It goes almost all the way flat to get under cabinets and is super slim. No bulky canister preventing the handle from going flat to the floor. It does all that while not being crazy loud. Even my scaredy-cat cat isn't terrified of it! This is unheard of. Normally she will run when she hears the big vacuum just coming out of the closet, before it's even turned on, and bury herself somewhere the whole time I clean. With this vacuum she sat out in the open and watched me clean! This seriously changes everything, no more guilt with cleaning. And lastly, the reason I bought this one over every single other stick vacuum in the first place: it's freaking beautiful. Beeeeautiful! I absolutely detest the look of stick vacuums that have the huge canister at the top. They look stupid, if I'm being honest. Top heavy, clunky, odd. This one... nope. The canister is integrated into the whole wand part and is almost as slim as the wand. To whoever designed this thing, *chef's kiss*. The wand comes off to be the most beautiful hand vac. It works perfectly. It fits into cracks without that old fashioned tube extension thing. Lastly, it's easy to use and store, and just makes sense. The tray stores all the pieces, and keeps the brush part and hand vac part upright and charging. You can also charge just the hand vac with the cord too. I'm going to use that feature in my campervan and use the hand vac as my van's vacuum and charge it off my solar. Two things to mention that are insignificant: —The picture on the listing and box is misleading. Yes it has "power fins" on the brush roll, but there are also brushes next to the fins. The illustration completely omits the brush part which is... interesting. Regardless, I have a long hair cat and I'm a long hair human and after vacuuming my entire house, there were zero hairs stuck in the brush part of the roll and a ton in the canister, so they weren't lying about no hair wrap. —It doesn't have anywhere to store the hand vac extension tip. You can easily pop off the hand vac from the brush roll, and attach the little tip to reach in crevices. But when you want to go back to upright vacuuming, you have to put the little tip in your pocket or something to take it with you around the house. Not a dealbreaker but interesting they didn't include that when everything else was so cleverly designed. Similarly, that little tip has its own home on the storage/charging tray, but the other tip for upholstery has nowhere at all to go. I just sat it on the tray and it fits fine, but it's odd they made a molded spot fit specifically for one tip but nothing for the other. I've never had a stick vacuum before and I'm so glad I waited to spend my precious money on this one. As long as it lasts several years it was worth every penny and I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.

Always read the negative reviews, never trust the positive ones.

However, this is a positive review. I actually bought this vacuum, unlike other reviewers. Here's what I like. It has a charging base which makes sense, the plug is compact for behind furniture placement and the attachment for the base is underneath so again nothing to stick out but the cord. The handheld part can be charged while attached to the brush roll unit, or to the side as pictured with the nozzle and small brush attached. This also comes with a large brush attachment with 360 degrees of bristles, but it doesn't have a home on the base (c'mon shark.. you were doing so well with this so far) Still with me? The vacuum is rather quiet, much quitter than I expected. The filter inside is a conical mesh design and another secondary filter which I have yet to explore. Part of the fun of this vacuum at first is figuring out what buttons do what. I had to use the manual for a few. Expect to empty the dust bin after every use, however, I was impressed with the amount of cat fur it sucked up. Luckily you wont overfill the dust container because, as advertised, you're not going to be vacuuming for long. Make sure to charge it out of the box. Mine was at 1 bar (out of 3) With a full charge and running the brush roller I was able to make it around the bottom floor of my house and put it back on the charger with one bar left and the vacuum never slowed. I also like that the battery is removable so you could feasibly have more than one. The rollers on the brush head also feel very soft, unlike other hard plastic vacuum wheels which rattle across wood floors. There is also a kickback strip on the underside so nothing comes flying back at your feet (unlike its larger corded brothers which just redistributes the dirt as you vacuum) The only downside to this vacuum is the price, but its ease of use and simplicity make "grabbing the vacuum" effortless. I would buy it again in a heartbeat. I just hope the battery holds up well over time and its a bit more reliable than its smaller handheld only cousin... again, read the negative reviews. 4.5 stars for this one. price and no where to put the second attachment points deducted.
