Atrantil Review
By John C Hogan on Reviewed in the United States on May 12, 2023
I have recently been experiencing extreme gas, bloating, constipation, and difficulty with weight control, as well as occasional breakouts of red rashes and mild itchiness in various places. These are textbook symptoms of IMO (intestinal methanogenic archaebacter overgrowth). I tried Emma for a couple of weeks with limited success. After researching this condition I realized that Atrantil seems to be the most effective product on the market available for dealing with this problem. Atrantil contains red quebracho, which seems to be necessary to break up the biofilm developed by archaebacter infecting the small intestine. Unfortunately this supplement is not available in supplement form except in Atrantil, since the developer of Atrantil has patented this formulation for dealing with digestive problems. Do not confuse red quebracho (Schinopsis) with white quebracho (Aspidosperma), both of which are available in supplement form for human consumption. Methanogenic archaebacter in the small intestine generate copious amounts of methane gas, which has recently been shown to shut down intestinal peristalsis (hence the constipation and bloating). Leaky gut probably accounts for the rashes and itching. Per recommendation from another commenter here I am also taking a gut motility enhancer to combat the peristalsis inhibition. I also recommend consuming coffee, as this has laxative properties, even in decaffeinated form (ie. caffeine does not seem to be the active laxative in coffee). After one week of consuming 2 x 3 Atrantil capsules, two gut motility capsules, and several cups of coffee per day I have gone from having an incomplete stool movement with straining about once every two days to two more complete ones per day with much less difficulty. I have less (but not zero) gas, less bloating, and less itchiness. I intend to maintain this protocol for one month to clear the archaea from my small intestine, and then switch to a berberine-based supplement like Emma or just high-strength berberine to clear out the SIBO (conventional bacteria) which is currently feeding hydrogen to the archaea in my small intestine. I believe that this approach will resolve this condition and restore my digestive function to normalcy.

Stay near a toilet
By lulushops on Reviewed in the United States on April 12, 2025
TLDR: acted similar to colonoscopy prep and made me fart like an elephant. Made all symptoms worse. I have confirmed methane SIBO with bloating and bowel urgency & frequency being my main symptoms. I have been treating it with oregano oil, garlic extract, and neem extract. I experienced an initial herx reaction with those (headache, feeling flu-ish) then started feeling better and having better BM's but still having to go more frequently than normal (3-4x a day when I was 1x a day before SIBO). I decided to add this to my protocol as someone in my SIBO group swore it helped them have better motility so it got everything out at once (trying to not be too graphic here), rather than smaller BM's more frequently which is annoying and inconvenient when you are trying to go about your life away from a toilet. They said it helped them remain SIBO-free as well thanks to keeping things moving along as they should be. WELL.... I've been on this for 3 days now with only 1 pill in the AM with food and one in the PM with food, and unless I'm suddenly having another much more horrible herx reaction, this stuff is giving me all the issues it's meant to treat. *TMI WARNING* I am so incredibly bloated, have like 5 second long gigantic farts that smell horrendous, and have been having spicy lava waterfalls all day every day since starting. I'm worried about dehydration, legitimately. My liver or gallbladder seem to be irritated because what ends up in the toilet is yellow. Thank God I have nowhere pressing that I need to be because I need to stay within 20 ft of a toilet at all times right now. The transit time for my guts is roughly 45 min at the moment, I'm legitimately seeing things come out via my backdoor that I just ate, and I've taken 2 Imodium with seemingly no effect. My body is exorcising the demons I guess, I'm just not sure if this is something I need to power through to feel better or move on to a less aggressive treatment. I'll update if I decide to stick with it and see positive change.
