Paula Deen PDAF852MJB-RB  8.5 QT Air Fryer Black (Open Box)

Wife been wanting one. This brand recommended by friend. Glad we got the 8 qt cuz the 6qt would have been too small, even for just 2 people. Anyway, packaged well, shipping very prompt, no damage on arrival. I will say it is very basic. No programs, no electronics, no keypads. It's an enclosed fan (top) blowing over a heating coil (looks like the coil or burner from a conventional stove top). In bottom a removable non stick tray where you put your food items. Controls---A huge dial thermostat (looks like something from the 1960s) with printed temperatures next to the pointer. That is the heat setting. Next to that is a mechanical timer which ticks. It serves as the on off switch also (similar to the old bathroom fan/light mechanical timers on the wall switch. You can turn it off/on or rotate it either direction while cooking. That being said, it is beautifully and simply laid out. Personally I like it because there's very few parts to go bad and looks simple to replace components. Other than a few safety switches and thermal overload switches (which all air fryers must have) it seems well built and sturdy. I liked the high wattage (1700 watts) because cooking goes faster with higher set temps. Just be sure not to an average extension cord or you could trip a breaker or melt a cord due to high current draw. Wife loves it and learned it's simple operation after first use. Cooks evenly and quickly. Tray/basket cleanup very easy. I recommend although we have only had it several weeks. Will see how long it lasts using it 3x per week.
