Finally, a Mosquito-Free Patio!
By Dexter on Reviewed in the United States on February 16, 2025
I've battled mosquitoes on my patio for years. Citronella candles, sprays, zappers – you name it, I've tried it. Nothing seemed to provide consistent, reliable relief. That is, until I tried the Thermacell E-Series Rechargeable Repeller. This little device has been a game-changer for my outdoor enjoyment. What I liked: Effective Mosquito Repellency: This is the most important factor, and the E-Series delivers. I've noticed a significant reduction in mosquitoes since I started using it. I can actually sit outside in the evening without constantly swatting and slapping. Rechargeable Battery: No more constantly buying batteries! The rechargeable battery lasts for a decent amount of time, and it's easy to recharge with the included USB cable. Odorless and DEET-Free: I'm sensitive to strong smells, and I appreciate that the Thermacell repellent is virtually odorless. The fact that it's DEET-free is also a major plus, especially since I have kids and pets. Easy to Use: The device is incredibly simple to operate. Just turn it on, and it starts working. Replacing the repellent cartridges is also a breeze. Portable: The E-Series is compact and lightweight, making it easy to move around my patio or even take with me camping or to outdoor events. Quiet Operation: Unlike some mosquito zappers, the E-Series operates silently. What could be improved: Repellent Cartridge Life: While the repellent cartridges last a reasonable amount of time, I do find myself having to replace them fairly regularly, especially during peak mosquito season. A longer-lasting cartridge option would be great. Initial Cost: The initial cost of the device is a little higher than some other mosquito repellent options. However, considering the effectiveness and the fact that it's rechargeable, I think it's a worthwhile investment in the long run. Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars.

My High Hopes and Confidence in This Product Were Dashed Immediately. Total Waste of Money.
By Jeff Cornish on Reviewed in the United States on April 16, 2025
After having amazing success with a Thermacell portable repellent, I decided to upgrade to a larger device to see if I could get some additional relief from the insane population of mosquitos and gnats in the swampy North Florida area when I live. I was completely and utterly let down. After fully charging the device and allowing it time to warm up, I placed it on my table beside my chair on my patio and took a seat. The 'smoke' output on this was pathetic at best and totally non-existent most of the time. With the device no more than two feet away from me, I was being bitten as a rate that has caused me to wonder if this thing actually attracts bugs. Totally and absolutely worthless. The other issue is the '12 hour' repellent claim is totally false. In my attempts to ensure I had given this device every opportunity to work, I used it over the course of multiple days, each day having it powered on and working for about 2 hours. The repellent liquid lasted a grand total 3 days (so an estimated time of just under 6hrs). Maybe I just got unlucky, but overall I would rate this product with zero stars if I could. Complete waste of money and effort.
