Makes great iced coffee!
By Cee on Reviewed in the United States on March 6, 2021
Wow, I love this little iced coffee maker! I didn't have high expectations for it but I promise you, it's a awesome machine! I've tried many different coffee makers and none of them made a good iced coffee besides the Ninja coffee bar. However, the Ninja bar malfunctioned constantly and had to keep getting replaced (this shouldn't happen with a almost $200 product) so we eventually threw it away. My husband bought a Keurig coffee maker but to me, the coffee that comes from that tastes like sock water. It's gross and not strong enough for my liking plus it cannot make a good iced coffee. This machine is small so it doesn't take up much counter space at all. It is very easy to use and clean! The cup it comes with is nice and you can measure the amount of water for the machine with it (it has the water line on the cup) so it will make just enough for the cup! Fill it with water, add coffee grounds, add ice and sugar (or fake sugar and syrup if you do that) to your cup, and press start- it's that simple! You can select your desired drip speed, I slide it all the way so that it drips faster, however, it is still kind of a slow drip. I love this coffee maker and for $30 you cannot go wrong! Now I don't have to take trips to our local coffee shop and I'll be saving $4 a cup ☺️.ETA- yes, the coffee comes out hot because you're suppose to add ice to your cup for a "iced coffee" lolol. Don't worry about adding too much ice, fill the cup all the way to the top with ice, by the time the coffee is done you'll have a perfect amount of ice and not too much.

Trashed the Coffeemaker. Kept the Tumbler
By gentlesky5 on Reviewed in the United States on August 2, 2023
I did a lot of research before buying this and saw several glowing reviews on YouTube. When I went to run the “cleaning cycle” through the machine, the machine started smoking and smelling super burnt. We couldn’t get the “start” button to turn off as it was stuck in. I saw some reviews where a similar problem happened but hoped it wouldn’t happen to me. We unplugged the coffeemaker before it could burn down the house. We set it outside because smoke was coming out of the top AND out of the start button. Smelled pretty burnt. So we decided we weren’t gonna try that again.HOWEVER, I give it two stars because we decided to use the tumbler & scooper that it comes with to help us with water/ice measurements for making iced coffee. So I used the water measurement on the tumbler to pour water into a regular Mr. Coffee coffee maker. Used the pre-measured scoop to scoop coffee grounds in a regular coffee filter. Let that brew into a regular coffee pot. When the coffee pot was ready, it looked like there was barely any coffee in there. And it smelled strong. But I decided to trust the measurements. I filled the tumbler with ice to the ice measurement line (pretty much to the top). Then I SLOWLY poured the coffee pot over the tumbler. Emphasis on slowly, because I didn't want to melt the ice too quickly. After pouring over the ice in the tumbler, about 1/2 of the ice melted, which is what's supposed to happen anyway. There was just the right amount of coffee to fill the tumbler, even though I originally thought it wouldn’t be enough. The temperature of the finished iced coffee was great! Iced cold. The only issue was the coffee was pretty strong. I had to add a good amount of milk and creamer to tame it down. But I don't like my coffee super strong. After adding the right amount of milk and flavored creamer, it turned out delicious. Just as good as anything from Dunkin. This tumbler is gonna save me tons of money. So, the actual coffee maker went in the trash. Which is upsetting. But we will not do a return & just keep the tumbler and scoop, because it helps eliminate guess work when trying to make an iced coffee with enough water/ice.To order the tumbler separately is $20 anyway, so we are really only losing out on $10 for trashing the coffee maker. Plus we get a reusable coffee filter and a recipe guide for iced coffees. My recommendation is, if you already have a standard coffee maker, just order the Mr Coffee Iced Coffee tumbler that has the ice and water measurements on it. Then brew the coffee in your regular coffeemaker and pour it over the tumbler when it’s ready. It’s essentially the same thing as ordering this coffeemaker, only it won’t fill your house with smoke. I saw a few reviews from people saying “don’t leave it plugged in” and “broken after first use,” and now I see why. You can use a regular tablespoon to figure out how much coffee grounds to use. The tumbler is the real star of the show here when it comes to making a good homemade iced coffee. We actually ordered another tumbler from Amazon so we can fill our coffee pot with the recommended water measurements 2x and be able to make 2 iced coffees in one brew, one for me and one for my husband.
