I recently purchased the Netgear 4-Stream AX1800 WiFi 6 Mesh Extender (EAX15), and I must say, it has truly transformed my home internet experience! From the moment I unboxed the device, I was impressed with its sleek design and compact size, making it easy to fit seamlessly into my existing home setup. The setup process was incredibly straightforward. Utilizing the Nighthawk app, I was able to get everything up and running in no time. The app guided me step-by-step, and I was connected to my expanded Wi-Fi network within minutes. I appreciated the clear instructions and visual aids which made it easy, even for someone who isn't particularly tech-savvy. Once installed, the performance of the EAX15 exceeded my expectations. This extender is built on the latest WiFi 6 technology, which not only offers faster speeds but also significantly improves overall network efficiency. I noticed a dramatic increase in speed; my internet browsing, streaming, and online gaming were noticeably smoother. With four streams of data, the EAX15 effectively eliminates dead zones that previously plagued my home. I can now access a strong Wi-Fi signal in every room, including areas that were once hard to reach, like my basement and garage. The device supports multiple devices simultaneously without any of the lag I used to experience, making it ideal for my busy household, where everyone is online at once. Another feature that I love is the smart connect technology, which intelligently selects the best band for each device. This means that my devices are always connected to the fastest available signal, enhancing performance. Additionally, the EAX15 has gigabit ports that allow for wired connections to devices like my gaming console and smart TV, ensuring they get the maximum possible speed. Security is always a priority for me, and this extender doesn't disappoint. It maintains robust security protocols, including WPA3 encryption, providing peace of mind that my network is secure against potential threats. The ability to manage connected devices and set parental controls through the Nighthawk app is another fantastic feature that I find incredibly valuable, especially with children at home. In terms of design, the EAX15 is sleek and modern. The LED indicators are easy to read and provide helpful information about the unit’s status and connectivity strength. The ventilation design also prevents overheating during long use, which is a bonus. If there’s ever a need for assistance, Netgear's customer support is another strong point. They are readily available, knowledgeable, and responsive, ensuring that any issues can be addressed promptly and efficiently. All in all, the Netgear 4-Stream AX1800 WiFi 6 Mesh Extender (EAX15) has been a fantastic investment for enhancing my home network. It has provided extensive coverage, remarkable speed, and reliable stability to my internet connection. For anyone looking to eliminate dead zones and boost their Wi-Fi experience, I highly recommend this product. I can confidently say that the EAX15 has made a positive difference in my daily life and allows me to enjoy the internet to its fullest. Don't hesitate to buy – it's worth every penny!

Massive piece of garbage. Subscription?! I will never buy any Netgear products again.
By Calli C on Reviewed in the United States on August 4, 2023
This thing was a piece of crap from the beginning. It continuously dropped the 5G, and I let it go for a while, about 30 days until I had time to sit down and work on it. It will no longer reset, and does not broadcast it's SSID, and when I called Netgear technical support a very smug person of the male persuasion who I'm sure his name was Bee A s * +* d, very smugly told me that I need it to have a subscription of $15 a month in order for my range extender to connect to my own network and work, lol! There was no explanation for it working partially for the previous 30 days. Mr b claimed that this information was on the box. I didn't get a box. I did get instructions, and at no place anywhere in any of the instructions is there anything stating that I had to have a subscription to connect a device that extends the range of my network. There is a subscription service, but not for this application! The man was obviously playing a fool simply because I was a woman and thought that I would just glibly fall for whatever nonsense he was spewing. Once I advised him that I had done IT work in the past, built my own computers and networks, he became very smug and insulting, stating things like 'You're such an expert." And " You're so smart." I have seen and experienced literal toxic masculinity in my lifetime, and I don't accept it. I have never, ever experienced it as a customer calling tech support, and after spending 10 years working phones in customer support, I would never allow this kind of nonsense to happen. I don't know what kind business lowers the standards of quality to the point of poorly functioning products, and the most agregious customer service I have ever encountered, but it's helped me decide I will never buy another Netgear product as long as I live and I will tell everyone I know why that is.

Easy Set-Up, and It Works!

I had a large, clunky extender provided by my internet provider. Given that I had only 1 cable hook up in my room, I was limited to where I could use it. I decided to try the NETGEAR plug-in extender. Using the app, it was a snap to set-up, and instantly all of my electronics in the room went to full 5G signals!
It definitely helps

Tech support not so good...not an Amazon issue.

While the product seems just fine, I am underwhelmed by tech support. None of this is Amazon's issue. Amazon did what they were supposed to do. This review may help others resolve technical support concerns. Initially, the product did not work with my existing modem/wireless router. Netgear product information setup basically consists of plug it in, download the app, set it up, and you'll be fine. No details or explanations or specifics. So I called Netgear tech support, and got to an off-shore call center, where the tech could not resolve the connectivity issue, and told me the ISP router was incompatible with the Netgear extender. Called my ISP, another offshore call center, and they don't even have Level 2 support, sounded like the tech was using AI to try to resolve the connectivity issue, and they couldn't resolve it either, despite me asking very specific router setting questions. I suspected the router settings were blocking wireless internet connectivity to the extender and all I had to do was change the router setting to Allow, or unblocked on the router. The ISP said the problem was with the Netgear product. I know enough router stuff to be dangerous, so I searched the internet, found a helpful thread, and successfully added the extender MAC address to the Allowed list (even though it wasn't specifically blocked) and restarted everything, and successfully got the extender working just fine. The Netgear and ISP support was lacking, you're basically on your own if you have issues. Or you need to know your own IT tech... The Netgear product seems solid now.

The extender is in a box with a card…download the app and life will be just fine…not that simple. Confusing at best as just “admin” for user is there; however, as a former mind reader it took several attempts to figure out that the default password was “password.”…which did not get me to the stage of programming the device for my router. The password you set up for your account is NOT the password to program the device…yikes! How I got to setup the device is a mystery. At this point it works and is doing what I want…which is strengthening my signal in an area of the house with little or weak signal strength. The app is no great shakes app…test your download speed and see that the device is active…other than that no big whoop. Not sure if another brand would give you more for a lower price.
