If Only I Could Give ZERO Stars!
By Dawn on Reviewed in the United States on January 25, 2021
First off, let me just say I was so eager to receive this product. After watching advertisements of the monitor online, I got excited for it — had very high hopes for it. But after I placed the order, I had found reviews of the monitor just shutting down, after either two days or just minutes after first usage. But of course, I kept my hopes up, praying that Samsung had silently fixed these problems and that the monitor I was receiving would work. So when it came, (at 8am) I eagerly unboxed the monitor and started to set it up... My first impression was that it was a beautiful monitor. But it felt cheap. The stand was very flimsy (and at the time, i started to set it up, without reading the manual, so i didn’t know i needed screws lol). But regardless, without the screws, the stand kept SNAPPING OPEN whenever I would adjust the monitor. Which, even without screws, that shouldn’t happen. The stand should be able to hold the weight of the monitor. This was STRIKE ONE. Then, I went through the other items in the box — never even received a manual. I had to find it online... This was STRIKE TWO. So, I finally plugged the power cord to the monitor and i hooked up the USB-C connector to the monitor and my MacBook Pro and I powered the “SMART” monitor on, only to find that it WOULDN’T EVEN TURN ON. It just BLINKED. Blinking as if it was trying to turn on, with all its might, but just ended up being unable to. This was STRIKE THREE. But still, I paid over $300 for it and I still wanted to give Samsung the benefit of the doubt, so I left the monitor on and plugged in, in hopes that it would eventually work. And in the end, I wounded up returning it and purchasing the 24 inch Samsung SH850 Series Business Monitor, which, in my opinion is a million times better and more versatile than Samsung’s self-proclaimed “SMART monitor” which wouldn’t even power on. So if I could give this product ZERO stars, I would. I wholeheartedly DO NOT recommend this product and passionately think that Samsung should take this monitor off the market and fix it, immediately. m
