So Good I Bought A Second One
By P.O. on Reviewed in the United States on June 21, 2021
As a Product Director, I am a victim of too many browsers and too many tabs open at one time. It is not unusual for me to be working across multiple Chrome, Firefox, and Safari browsers at the same time. For my needs, working on my laptop is inefficient and annoying. I have always thought that since I am not a hardcore gamer and not a high-end graphic designer investing in a monitor wasn't worth it. I was wrong. In fact, a few days after working on the Samsung M7 monitor, I purchased a second one. My efficiency at work has seen a major improvement. In addition, having the space to have multiple windows open has been a big help on my eyes. If you own a Samsung TV, you will be pretty familiar with the layout and the settings options. The 4K picture quality on the monitor is stunning. Obviously, it works well when you are using the apps (Netflix, HBOMax, Hulu, etc.) and watching TV, but it also a noticeable difference when using work applications. I was also fairly impressed with the sound quality running through the monitor. It is not as great as if you were running high-quality external speakers, but it provides a nice full sound not typically found on a monitor. Just like Samsung's TV the selection of apps available are good and easy to set up. This allows the monitor to double as a TV (when you're not working of course). There were a few minor issues that I have experienced with the monitor, but none of them are blockers. The first is that when I was setting up both monitors, no matter what I did, it would not recognize and complete the Bixby voice recognition. I had to go back later to complete that setup. The DEX integration was a little clunky for me, but to be fair, I have never utilized DEX by Samsung, and so it may have been more user error than system error. The last thing that can get a little funky is daisy-chaining the monitors (which may not be a typical use case), but since there is a remote control to operate the monitor, it can be challenging to set one separate from the other, but I am sure with a little research, I can figure that one out. Overall these monitors are absolutely amazing. I have recommended them to all of my co-workers and my wife also wants one too (she is trying to steal my 2nd one). The price of these monitors is also amazing. I did a bunch of research, and feel confident that you won't find anything else out there with the features and specs of this monitor anywhere close to the price. Love this monitor!

Samsung really hosed it up with this one!
By EdCaffreyMS on Reviewed in the United States on December 22, 2020
Samsung usually does pretty good with computer monitors, and with TVs.... But they really dropped a rotten egg with this thing! It arrived today, I got it unpacked, and installed. (I'd already read the manual online while waiting for it to arrive). After taking FOREVER to establish a Samsung account (you can't use the voice feature/remote without a Samsung account) the first thing I noticed is the picture/images on this monitor are VERY DARK. I thought no biggie, I'll adjust in the settings....NOT! As it came, the brightness and contrast were maxed out....with nowhere else to go. So, I started going through the seemingly endless menu items... and most were "unavailable". I tried switching to "Dynamic" picture mode, and that only slightly brightened things. I didn't need to go any further. MAYBE, if the ONLY thing you do with this monitor is watch movies, in a VERY dark room.... it MIGHT be OK for you, but for anyone who EVER does anything else like......visit website..... or heaven forbid... you want to edit a picture or video footage..... IMPOSSIBLE with this monitor. As I write this review, it is already back in the box, waiting to be picked up/returned. Even in this price range, this monitor is totally unacceptable. Possibly, if Samsung were to redesign it with a much higher brightness and contrast, it COULD be a usable monitor....but as it is, I can't image anyone who has ever seen a computer monitor before, could call it "usable". Do yourself a favor.... if you want a computer monitor, buy a computer monitor. If you want a TV, buy a TV. Just steer clear of this lemon of a goose egg that Samsung has laid, it's not fit for use as either one.
