Easy to use, perfect for a one room humidifier
By DjDrew103 on Reviewed in the United States on December 5, 2021
Before you go condemning this for clogging up if you have heavily mineral content to you local water, READ THIS!!!If it stops vaporizing well especially on the LOW setting, not long after using it for a while, try this. Get a NEW PENCIL WITH A NEW ERASER ON THE END. Take the upper half of the cannister off, dump the water from the lower half, and use the eraser to gently clean the round heating element in the center of the bottom part to free it up of crystalized minerals that prevent the conductivity of the vaporizer to the water. Put it all back together after rinsing the bottom assembly free of any loose particles, refilling the top half, and put it back together Wallah! Good as brand new.Actually, my only regret is that it doesn't have a stronger dispersal fan. The vapor extends 3 maybe 4 feet out of the top and I have to use a small table top 9"-12" oscillating fan to push the vapor better in order to spread the humidifying effect more evenly. But you can't expect perfect room distribution with a table top model such as this, for such a low price, $30.00.Don't get duped into paying $40 for the same model for empty promises of better quality. This $30 model does well in a single bedroom but not so much for a large living room during high furnace usage in the dead of winter. On high, you will be refilling this once every day.

Frustration functionality
By T.H.P. on Reviewed in the United States on December 13, 2022
I love the Winix brand for air purifiers. I currently have 7 of them in each room throughout the house —some of which have been running 24/7 for over a decade and still working great. So I was surprised at how disappointing this humidifier was. It works well, however, and this is such a frustrating feature that I want to return the purchase—if you run out of water, the lights (indicating the level of mist output) will blink. There is no way to turn it off unless you put in more water. I wouldn’t mind it so much if I was able to fill it up from the top, but to fill up, you have to remove the container, turn it upside down, unscrew the cap and pour in water. There have been several middle of the nights where the water ran out and instead of letting me simply turn off the humidifier to get the lights to stop blinking, I had to get out of bed and unplug the unit itself. What a terrible design. Very inconvenient.
