Still good to this day
By Jordan on Reviewed in the United States on May 3, 2025
Love the phone. I've had the 4a 5g for the last 3 years or so, and it finally started to die because I dropped it in the water a couple times over the years. This newer one has been so awesome, and the fact that you still get free photo upload with google is the biggest selling point. I'm going to milk that cow for as long as I can before I have to start paying for photo storage. The fact that this is a 4 year old phone (purchased new) and it's still extremely functional is awesome.

Almost zero 5G reception
By RMS on Reviewed in the United States on July 30, 2024
I hate to give such a bad review, but the cell reception is just ridiculous. It's impressive how bad the 5G reception is on this phone across the whole of and outer Seattle. With 5G enabled, This phone will just stop loading anything until you switch to LTE, at which point there is no difference between this and the 4a. This is across Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint (and some other networks using the same towers like Mint) so I can safely say don't get this phone if you need faster cell data in the US. I hate to say but even the iPhone SE 3rd gen is faster with 5G. If you don't needthat, the screen is a fine resolution but also has the rainbow effect that old OLED screens had... And 5-6 months later I have the green line down the center of my screen, so can't even see the first 1/3 clearly anymore. Never experienced that issue firsthand until this phone, had a 3a for years without it. The wide angle Camera is just bad, it will always take noticeably worse quality pictures than the normal angle, which is still not the best without plenty of post-processing. Storage is good enough. Overall frustrating and disappointing, I'm frankly lucky this wasn't my first Pixel because I wouldn't have bought another one if it was.
