Crimson Trace Brushline Pro - 2.5-10x42 Do Not Purchase
By Synoptic12 on Reviewed in the United States on July 12, 2021
Crimson Trace Brushline Pro 2.5-10x 42 Plex I made this purchase from Amazon. Upon inspection, I found the Crimson Trace to have fairly good optics: multicoated, with allegedly ELD glass. There are no aberrations, as edge to edge clarity is excellent. There are Positive clicks on the turret knobs which are resettable to zero. The magnification selector ring, diopter adjustment, and turret caps are of a high grade rubber. The weight is a tad heavy, yet the coating seems very good. Fit and finish is excellent, as the scope is made in the Philippines. The F.O.V. seems extremely small @2.5. and F.O.V. @10 seems there is “no” change. It is allegedly shockproof, so hopefully it will maintain zero from a .300 Win Mag. Have not field tested as yet. I contacted customer service ‘twice’ via telephone inquiring on the F.O.V. and not any could answer the question. When I mentioned that I would never purchase a Crimson Trace rifle scope again, then, Crimson trace sent me an email stating they would bring those details to the so-called ‘engineers’. Customer service is at a loss to really bring any technical details to the consumer, rather they seem to be lost. Actually, I never heard from customer service personnel again, when they sent the email relating to F.O.V. I’ve never heard of an optics maker “not” providing the F.O.V. Moving forward, @10x there is some degradation to clarity, whereby even a Bushnell is far better. Some equate the Crimson Trace Brushline Pro to a grade under Leupold VXII. Something seems not to be right with the glass, as having ‘no’ gradient tint. The glass is only one factor in determining the quality of a rifle scope. The internal parts are a great factor adjoined to the glass. We would not recommend this rifle scope or any of Crimson Trace’s products. Purchase one and then tell me I’m a liar. The one I purchased will be sold as soon as possible. This is one of the worst scopes I’ve ever purchased. Even China produces far better optics. Rating “Zero”.
