Simple, sturdy, quick setup

Since the quarantine happened in mid march and I started working from home, I have been on the hunt for a good laptop dock to ease the burden of connecting and disconnecting my work laptop as well as my personal laptop to my desk setup (2x 4k monitors, keyboard, mouse, etc.) For this review, I will be making comparisons/references to another laptop docking station that I recently purchased that relies on the same technology (DisplayLink), the Dell 452-BCYT D6000, which is also sold here on Amazon. I was testing these docks with both a Macbook Pro (2020 13") and a 15" ASUS ROG laptop which runs Windows 10. First off, this dock came very well packaged. It comes in a sleek box with protected foam surrounding the bottom & top of the dock, sandwiched next to a slimmer paperboard box with the power cable & USB-C cable. The second thing I immediately noticed was the sturdiness & construction of the dock. It's not heavy, but it has some weight to it - it is built with a strong aluminum casing. Before you set up the dock, I would recommend downloading & installing the DisplayLink drivers from the official site. I already had them installed from my previous dock, so I didn't need to worry about reinstalling them. The only issue that came up when setting up the dock was that it would only output on one display for my Windows 10 computer (using 2 DisplayPort cables). I read the provided manual, and there was a comment about DisplayPort 1 and HDMI 1 being disabled if your computer does not support USB 'alt mode'. After I switched one of the DisplayPort cables with an HDMI cable in HDMI 2, it worked just fine. Just something to note if you run into the same thing. I'm not sure what exactly this 'alt mode' is, because I am able to connect 2 DisplayPort cables to the Dell dock with the same laptop and both of the displays work just fine. On my Macbook, both of the DisplayPort outputs worked just fine. Not sure exactly what the difference is. Some features worth noting on the QGeeM 4K Quad Display USB 3.0 Universal Laptop Docking Station: √ Detachable USB-C cable √ Power button for turning the dock on √ SD/TF card readers √ USB 3.1 ports (3x) √ 4 video ports (2x DisplayPort, 2x HDMI) √ Sturdy aluminum case √ Kensington security lock Some cons vs. the Dell 452-BCYT D6000 × No USB ports on the side or back × Power adapter cannot power a 60w laptop alone The biggest gripe I have is that the USB ports are all on the front of the dock, which makes it a little awkward to plug in your peripherals if they are meant to be hidden behind your desk. Overall, this is a solid laptop dock for the money. When/if my company returns to the office, I will be taking this dock in to ease the burden of connecting and disconnecting cables for my workstation.

Works but not last long

The docking station works great for windows. On the Mac there is a little bit delay so not recommended. Then the station start to to me problems. It will black out and reboot my computer and the frequency start to increase a weeks ago. Contacted the customer service but no response. Bought it in March/April 2022 so $100 for 6 months.
