Great Electronic Lock! Easy Installation!
By The Standard Review on Reviewed in the United States on October 18, 2024
Here is The Standard Review for the Yale Assure Lock for Andersen Patio Doors . We have had this electronic lock for 4 years and we are very impressed with its functionality and durability. Installation was very quick and easy. The lock has a modern, seamless look. Simply touch the lock, type in your code and the door locks. If the door is unlocked simply touch the screen and the door locks - no need for keys! The batteries last for about 9 months with daily use and the lock lets you know if the batteries are low with plenty of warning. Overall a great electronic lock!

Overpriced and poorly designed
By RickandKatt on Reviewed in the United States on March 23, 2021
We purchased this mainly for the auto-lock feature, so that the door would lock after some minutes in the event that someone forgot to lock it at night. However, it fails to lock unless the lever on the door has been pulled up to engage the top/bottom latches. If you forget to do that, it just makes a beeping sound after it attempts but fails to lock due to a mechanical restriction (no sensor to detect the restriction). It could be argued the flaw is in the Andersen mechanism, which does not allow the deadbolt to engage without the lever pulled up, for no good reason I can see. Both Andersen and Yale are far too expensive to have overlooked such basic usage flaws IMO.The above was enough to make me return it, but I also think the interface is awful for such a high price in the year 2021 (it has a touch screen, but someone decided the interface should be designed to emulate a 1990-era phone interface where you press a number and listen for the next message). Even if the auto lock mechanism worked, there is an unnecessary maximum delay and the feature can't be configured to activate only at night (when we actually need it, else it would annoyingly lock all day, every time we go to the garden for more than 3 minutes). Finally, there were gaps between the door and lock, because there aren't enough screws to hold it together. With all these hardware and software flaws, the only feature left is that you can use this to avoid carrying a key. That's all you get, for a lot of money.(PS: I rated the wifi signal a 1 star because I did not pay the extra $ hundreds to activate that deluxe feature.... )
