Great Value - Remove The Liners
By GraydonBot on Reviewed in the United States on August 18, 2020
So glad I bought this package of face shields. I mostly wanted the quantity for my friends and family who work at or volunteer in schools, but I snagged a couple out of the box for my own household. We wore them during a cross-country flight including the time spent at the departure and arrival airports. Compared to other face shield options, the foam seems concerningly thin, but I didn't experience any discomfort over the approximately seven hours of continuous use. This was after using them for several outings the prior week and they have continued to hold up well over the last three weeks. Feature wise, I appreciated the adjustable head strap. The multiple notches in the elastic allow for a large range of fits for different head sizes. Unlike a lot of other options on this site, it has a forehead guard built into the design. Not ideal for brimmed hats but some nice added protection for the upper portion of the head. Like most face shields, it does not fog up with normal breathing, especially through a mask. Some downsides might be that the thin, dark band might make it hard to find when it's not on your face, and you can't take a picture without glare. Since everyone seems to be talking about it, I'll mention assembly. Yes it's required. And yes, the shields are so thin that it's hard to believe there are liners on them. But there are definitely transparent shields between those translucent liners. A method we developed during assembly was to scratch the liner aggressively above the attach holes (where you would never look out anyways) to create tabs that made the liners easier to remove. We didn't notice any scratching, but I won't guarantee that there won't be any. Otherwise, assembly was a breeze. It's four steps and takes less than a couple minutes each. Other hints are start by putting the foam on the frame from the middle and don't be afraid to handle these things, they're meant to take a beating. Just try to avoid hard creasing the shield where your eyes look out.

Vision diffuser.
By Janet Downing on Reviewed in the United States on August 3, 2020
So . . . . I agree that it does shield your face and it is easy to put together. But there does seem to be a fundamental flaw: you can’t see anything. Nothing. Nada. I ask myself, “Can it be any grayer?” The answer comes echoing off the inside of the shield: “The Vid has diffused your purpose and mission - the diffusion of your vision is a given. And, yes, it can be grayer.”
