Very powerful. Easily dehumidifies a large area
By J. Henry on Reviewed in the United States on August 30, 2022
My house has a basement as large as the regular living space. Half finished with a workout area and gaming area and a sleeping area for guests. The other side is utilities and a workshop sort of. About 1500 sqft upstairs and another 1500 downstairs. This all needed to be kept around 30-40% humidity in the summer for my comfort. I recently got a new hvac system for the entire home and I don’t know exactly what the issue was but it absolutely could not drop the humidity below 50% upstairs and 60% in the basement. Sometimes it was even 70%+ down there with my ac set at 70F which is very cold and should be drying the air a ton. I have electronics down there that require about 50% max and my own comfort was important too. I read some reviews and got this dehumidifier in the largest size with the intention of running it in my basement alongside my ac. The first two days I ran it in my living room area to see the results. I’m not joking- I watched my humidity reader (forget what it’s called exactly but the digital humidity displays you can set up around the home) I watched it drop from 55% which it had been stuck at for weeks to 50, then 45, then 40 and even into the high 30s. The meter showed a low of 36% humidity! Wow. I could feel it within hours in my skin. That dry feeling instead of that clammy wet damp feeling and it was reflected in my meters. I ran it upstairs way longer just to kinda suck out all the excess moisture lingering and it did a great job. Then I put it in the basement where I ran it on continuous mode and hooked up a hose to my sump pump. It ran for about a day and dropped the humidity down there which had already been lowered by running it upstairs from about 50 down to 40. Now the entire basement stays at 40 or less all the time and my upstairs is the same. I don’t know or think that this could dry 3000 sq ft on two levels alone, but in conjunction with my central ac system it’s definitely getting the job done. I’ve started raising my central air temp to 72F and it feels fine with the lowered humidity. Overall I’d recommend this is if your central ac can’t handle high summer humidity like on the east coast or you just have a large space that needs to be dehumidified all the time

Unit failed at 14 months (6.5 months in service time), with no manufacturer support
By Maine Traveler on Reviewed in the United States on September 1, 2023
1. Unit was purchased on 24 May 2022. 2. Unit placed in service on receipt, 1 June 2022 and located in center of basement store room ( app.12' X 12'), NOTE: normal temperature range of space during operating months is 50-75F 3. Unit in service from 1 June until 9 Oct. 2022, when it was unplugged, cleaned and stored for the winter months following manufacturer recommendations. Total time in service 130 days (4.33 months) 4. Unit placed back in service on 28 May 2023 (Memorial Day weekend) 5. Thursday, 3 August: (67 days) When going to check/empty bucket, unit was found to be off, coils frosted/frozen over and showing an error code of "EC") (Note: last check was on Sunday 30 August, with no issues noted) 6. As we were away, our daughter was requested to empty the bucket, unplug and allow the coils to defrost. It remained this way until our return on Tuesday, 15 August. NB: Total operational time of unit was only 197 Days! (6.6 months)! 7. 16 - 19 August: After attempting to place the unit back in service, following all of the manufacturer's guidance, as well as their recommended trouble shooting for the "EC" code, as well as researching various potential problems/solutions, determined that unit's system had failed. 8. 21 August - 1 September: Made various attempts to contact manufacturer (Frigidaire / Electrolux). On 1 September we were finally able to get through to their 800 number. After confirming all of the steps recommended by Frigidaire / Electrolux, with the phone representative. They were firm in they would not provide ANY relief relative to the failed unit. Recognizing that the unit had a one year warranty, but had only been in service for 6.5 months, I truthfully expected that Frigidaire / Electrolux would support a replacement. Such was not to be the case. A lesson learned. Last point: We have owned Frigidaire products for many years. In fact we have an other dehumidifier, identical to the one that failed. With proper care, it has been working wonderfully for 6+ years, which is part of the reason when the previous 15 year old Frigidaire unit failed we replaced it with this new model. We understand that on occasion a piece of equipment just fails and accept that. The issue we now have is, based on this experience, is the Frigidaire brand any longer reliable for long term support under similar circumstances. I had recommended their dehumidifiers to friends, family, and neighbors for years. In all good concise, I can no longer do that.
