Best robot vacuum for the money
By Jaiden on Reviewed in the United States on March 17, 2022
This is our first robot vacuum, and the floor in our house has been so clean ever since it arrived. We set it to run every morning at 10:30, and it takes care of itself very well. Every once in a while we’ll have to go rescue it after it eats a sock or a cat toy, but that’s our fault for leaving them laying around. It never gives us any problems and has been my favorite purchase since we moved into this house. The cats love laying in front of it so that it turns and goes another direction, and it’s never been a threat to their paws or tails like we were concerned of at first. Since it has sensors on the front and side, it usually doesn’t bump into things. When it does, though, the vacuum is sensitive enough that it’s a really gentle bump. It handles walls and furniture intelligently, and round corners effectively too, which makes it so that it can circle table legs and such. That goes a long way in how thorough the vacuum is compared to, for example, my parents’ robot vacuum which has no concept of corners anything other than a straight line. It handles our two rugs just fine and switches between the rugs and hardwood floor without any issues. When cleaning the vacuum out for the first time, I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to clean thoroughly, even without reading instructions. Even more pleasantly surprising was the inclusion of a small tool attached to the dust trap which serves a double purpose. On one side of the tool, there’s a brush perfect for cleaning off the filter and inside of the dust trap, and on the other side, there’s a small razor (just like a letter-opener) which is for cutting hair off of the main vacuum brush. That saves a TON of time trying to unwind or break or pull at hair. I left a video of the cleaning process as part of this review so check it out to see how easy it is. The only problem I’ve run into is that the iOS version of the app hasn’t been able to get the vacuum itself to update its’ software, but I’m sure that will be fixed in the future. This problem is not much of a problem, as the vacuum still works great even if I’m not sure whether it’s entirely updated on the software side of things. This is a problem with the app, not the vacuum itself, and not a big deal so it’s not worth removing a star from the review. I don’t know whether this is the case on the Android version of the app. Overall, we’re very happy with this thing. Highly recommended for anyone who wants cleaner floors without sweeping all the time. My favorite thing about this vacuum is that we can walk around the house barefoot now without picking up a ton of debris on our feet! Woohoo!

Undecided after one week (updated: going back to Amazon due to app issues)
By NG on Reviewed in the United States on October 26, 2020
Kids named our vacuum Ruru. It is our first robot vacuum and I didn’t have high expectations to begin with, but for under 150 bucks on sale decided to give this one a try. 800 ml bin, 2000 Pa suction, WiFi control - what not to like, right? However, after having it for two weeks, I’d send it back right away if it was the original price without hesitation, and for now still trying it out asking myself if I want to pay $100 more and get something better. Before I start. Don’t listen to people who tell you that it creates or uses a map in the app, it uses nothing and creates no maps. Comments like that make me very suspicious about some of the reviews. Pros and cons. Pros: it cleans OK and not loud at all. WiFi app for IOS usually connects to it after a refresh. Aftermarket parts are cheap. It doesn’t bump into things, and while the cleaning pattern is nothing special I find it totally adequate for a no-smart vacuum. It doesn’t get stuck as often as I’ve expected, I’m pleasantly surprised. Chairs, long curtains, wires, carpets transitions, it handles those OK and kids have to leave some special trash somewhere for it to stuck. Cons: 1. The advertised 130-min runtime is a lie, even on standard suction power you can expect 90 min max. Switch to higher power to get those 2000 Pa and you will be dead in 50 min. I’m not removing a star for it since I didn’t expect 130 min to begin with. 2. WiFi app is super slow sending you notifications, they arrive randomly and usually with a 10 min delay. Most don’t arrive at all. App constantly switches to square meters, see picture. It deserves minus one star if not two. 3. The vacuum can find base 20% of the time if it is out of the room where the base is located. As of right now I expect it to never come back to base and to die somewhere. We have 2000 modest house and it is not acceptable. If cleaning the room where the base is, it works 90% of the time. Once it has totally lost it 5’ away and was running an opposite way until I’ve unplugged the base to reboot. It is minus one star big time. 4. Most of the cleaning cycles end with the robot running out of battery trying to find its way back to base. See the picture. If it has an orange dot next to the log event - something has happened. The only reason Ruru stays in our house for today is because I don’t want to shell out 2-3 times the price for a vacuum that will work the way I want it to work. For now I’m willing to bring it back to base when it is dead as long as it cleans. But don’t expect anything fancy for the money and never ever pay full price for it, it is not worth it due to its horrible WiFi app and inability to find its way back to base. ------------------------------- Update 10/30 I'm finally tired to deal with WiFi app that never works right. No notifications ever come about tangled brushes or the vacuum getting stuck before I find the vacuum myself. Never comes to base to get recharged, I have to carry it around like a lost dog. Like I said, it may work fine for you if you have an open plan and 1000 sf place, but for our house it is not worth it for the money paid. Will pay $100 more to get a better vacuum with maps, zones, laser navigation and hopefully a better WiFi app. This one seats next to WiFi router, house is covered by mesh network, and it still only shows "fair WIFI signal" in the app. When K600 was on sale for $90 it was a much better deal - better to use a basic remote than rely on an app that fails all the time.
