Makes Cold Brew Easy
By Terry C on Reviewed in the United States on May 14, 2025
I have been using my French press to make cold brew but decided to go with a dedicated cold brew method and container. I decided on this product because I have been a big fan of Takeya tumblers for several years. The name has been synonymous with quality and durability. I typically only use glass but the glass version is much more than I wanted to spend but this Tritan plastic version is very affordable and works the same. The recipe and instructions are included and it's extremely simple and was to use. The fine mesh filter is great because I prefer a less coarse grind and this does not allow for the fine grains to pass through, resulting in a very clean pitcher of cold brew. I love the aesthetics and design but it's very tall, making it hard to fit in my refrigerator configuration. I had to adjust the shelf to accommodate the height but other than that, I'm very happy with this product.

novice cold brewer with disappointment with the product
By R. Watts on Reviewed in the United States on May 13, 2025
I have been buying Stok for 5+ years and I thought I would give cold brew a try at home again. Previously I tried to use my French press, but I found that annoying due to it's small capacity and getting grinds in my cold brew. This item was well reviewed and was tagged as recommended by Amazon. it would be great to save money making my own cold brew at home. Instructions were included on how to use it, so that was good. In it's first use I am annoyed by it. Filling up the filter with the coffee was a pain with a smaller spoon from the measuring cup. I still made a mess with coffee grounds. Filling up the water with the instructions, which I thought I followed correctly was decidedly incorrect somehow. I filled the water to 1 inch to the top, but without the filter in it. That made me spill water everywhere, but I don't know how it would easily fill with water with the filter/coffee in it, and then easily be able to screw on the lid. It is way too tall for flexible storage in the fridge. I normally store tall items on a shelf in my fridge, but this is significantly taller than anything else that I have in there, so I moved stuff around to make it work in a spot that annoys my wife. This may work perfectly for others, but I am not sure if I will continue to use it. I want to give it 2 stars, but I will add an extra star as this may just be my own problems. I may give it a try a few more times, but it just seems like a pain. I may go back to wasting money on Stok at the grocery store.

As with many others, I have fallen down the protien coffee rabbit hole. I purchased this and it makes a quick and easy cold brew from any beans. The ground coffee goes into the steeper, add water and put in the fridge overnight. Easy and quick to use. HIndsight, I would have gotten glass since the container is plastic and Im trying to work on using less plastic. But for price and easy of use, this is a great place to start. #ProductReview #TestedAndApproved #AmazonFinds #HomeGadgets #RealReview #UnfilteredOpinions

Fast delivery. No damage. I thought this was made from glass, but it was plastic (BPA free) I tried making cold brew right away. I have my own coffee grinder and chose more coarse but wasn’t coarse enough and there were some grounds in my cup. Tastes good. I thought 1Qt was big enough for myself but I should have gotten 2Qt because I drink a lot of coffee.
Easy to use, no grounds in coffee, and easy to clean!

This makes great coffee and is extremely easy to clean. The product is lightweight even when full and I get about 4 - servings per pitcher. I do wish they made one size larger but I love being able to store my coffee in a to go tumbler so I just grab and go on my way to work! It seems very durable and the coffee doesn’t stain the pitcher. Also, I have not had any grounds in my coffee unless I spilled them! I’ve been using this for at least 2 months and I am very happy I made this purchase!

Love this cold brew pitcher. The filter is a very fine mesh so even if I accidentally grind my coffee beans too fine nothing really seems to seep through except the flavor. It seems very durable and I plan on pre-making cold brew coffee for camping so I don't have to deal with that in the morning. Comes with instructions on how long to brew and how much to use. Capacity is about 1.8 l unless you overfill it. A couple liters of cold brew coffee or tea is great for a few people so good capacity without taking up much space in the fridge.
Everything you need to know and differences from the iced tea maker

I purchased both this and the iced tea maker as a way to make my own beverages at home and save some money as well. They are both great products and you might be wondering if they are different at all. First of all, this product works great. Like all Japanese products, it feels high-quality. It is essentially a pitcher with a two-piece detachable filter and an airtight lid with basically two "notch" positions - closed and "open enough to pour," though you'll probably just take the lid off when you serve. The pitcher is oblong, which doesn't come through in the pictures, so you can lay it on its side for brewing, which is recommended for the coffee maker. The handle is also big and thick, with a rubberized grip. The differences between this and the iced tea maker are basically that the filter material used feels different. This has a silky, denser mesh, while the iced tea maker is a more standard, coarse, more open mesh. You can buy replacements for either one. The iced tea maker has a method of pouring hot water directly into the maker for brewing that is not advertised for this one, although everything is exactly the same except for the filter so I'm pretty sure you can use that method with the coffee maker as well, although again the filter material itself is different. The iced tea maker also comes with a little cup that acts as a holder for the filter, which can stand up by itself when the lid is not screwed on. The coffee maker does not come with the cup. I also found that, in general, tea soaks up less water than coffee, so I had to take out the coffee maker halfway through the brew, maybe before I went to sleep, and fill it up with some more water, whereas I didn't have to do that with the iced tea maker. I did find that the handle part of the pitcher where the lid screws in, the actual colored part, often feels slightly loose and made me feel like I had to tighten it slightly. Please note that only the color of this piece and the lid are different. The two-piece filter only comes in black no matter what color you choose. One piece of the filter screws into the lid and the actual filter part screws into that first piece. It has a flat bottom, so can stand-up by itself, as previously mentioned. Of course, this is a great airtight pitcher in and of itself, even when you're not using the filter and just need something big to mix/shake a drink in and pour it. It takes about 2 cups of ground coffee to brew a full pitcher, and I have noticed the slightest bit of leaking as I use this maker. We're talking a few drops after an overnight of brewing on its side and sealed airtight. If you close it all the way and hold it upside down, nothing is going to immediately leak unless you leave it that way for an extended period of time. It's slightly harder to clean out the coffee maker just because coffee grounds are messier than tea, including some thick soupy buildup that you're going to see at the top of the filter. Get ready to shake out about 95% of it into your trash can and rinse out the rest below a running sink. It's also a little hard to find the exact perfect way to pour coffee grounds into the filter without spilling any, and I've settled on using a corner of the bag itself to do it. The iced tea maker seems to come in brighter colors than the coffee maker. Takeya also makes a spa water infuser version of this with a more open plastic filter, but you can easily use this or the coffee maker and just infusion spa water by dropping fruit directly into the water, without having to use the filters at all, which will give you a stronger flavor anyway. The instructions tell you to use medium roast beans, but I love blonde roasts the most and I have made very good cold brew with this. Just make sure you use filtered water obviously and not tap water since you are cold brewing this, and wash everything thoroughly after each use before re-brewing. I have found that flavored beans like vanilla or hazelnut taste absolutely amazing cold brewed with this maker. Please note that you will not yield a full 2 quarters of brewed coffee because the filter and the grounds take up alot of volume in the container. I can get about 3-4 large glasses.

I honestly love this product. I grind Colombian as coarse as my machine will go. I brew three of these in a row....back to back to back over 3 days. I store in a couple 64oz glass milk bottles which last 1-2 weeks. I have used other methods and recipes, but following the instructions exactly as provided with the product works great for me. I have the plastic version, but would probably buy the glass one if I ever have to buy another.
