A Thing of Beauty

I just received my iPad and so far, it’s Perfect! You wouldn’t even know it was refurbished! They even added a screen protector which saves me money on getting one. I’ll update after a few weeks to see how well it works.

A Nightmare Experience - Defective iPad Pro, Unfulfilled Payment Plan and No Refund
By Marie on Reviewed in the United States on October 4, 2023
I recently purchased an iPad Pro 11 inch through Amazon Renewed. I didn't know the item was going to be shipped from a third-party seller called "Tech Exchangee." Unfortunately, my experience has been nothing short of a nightmare, and I am left deeply dissatisfied with the product, the seller and Amazon's customer service. Not only was the iPad Pro defective, but what added insult to injury was that they immediately deducted the entire amount for the iPad when I had signed up for an equal payment plan spread over 12 months. This discrepancy left me feeling duped and concerned, as it was not what I had initially agreed to when making the purchase. Furthermore, upon receiving the defective iPad Pro, it was clear that the device had numerous issues and was far from the working condition that was advertised on the Amazon Renewed listing. Frustrated but hopeful for a resolution, I promptly initiated a return request through Amazon's platform. Here is where the problems began to compound. Tech Exchangee claimed almost a month after they received the defective iPad Pro that they sent me, statted that they did not receive the defective iPad Pro I returned, but rather another iPad. This was absolutely not the case, as I packed and shipped back the exact same defective product I received. The discrepancy in their claims is concerning and leaves me questioning their integrity as a seller. What makes matters worse is that Tech Exchangee tried to bypass Amazon's platform by asking to communicate outside of it. This is a clear violation of Amazon's policies, and I refused to engage in such communication. However, it seems that Tech Exchangee's misconduct has been overlooked, as they remain active on the platform. To add insult to injury, Amazon deducted over $600 from my account for the iPad that I returned to the seller. Despite reaching out to Amazon multiple times to explain address the situation, I have received no response or assistance from them. It is infuriating that Amazon has not investigated this matter properly and has allowed a seller like Tech Exchangee to take advantage of its customers. I am extremely disappointed with this entire experience. It's disheartening to see how Amazon is failing to protect its customers from unscrupulous sellers on its Renewed platform. I am still awaiting a refund for the defective product I returned, and it seems like I may never get my hard-earned money back. My advice to potential buyers is to exercise extreme caution when purchasing from Tech Exchangee or any other third-party seller on Amazon Renewed. Additionally, be wary of Amazon's customer service when dealing with issues like this, as they have shown a lack of responsiveness and willingness to address this problem. This has been an utterly frustrating and regrettable experience, and I hope no one else has to endure such a terrible ordeal.
