Best Cup of Coffee
By William on Reviewed in the United States on May 19, 2025
I upgraded my previous Keurig coffee maker that I bought in 2013. It was worth the upgrade. I like how easy this machine is to use. Easy setup: Right out of the box there was little that needed to be done. Just remove factory tape, plug it in and run a single water only cycle and good to go. Taste: I use a quality coffee. I played with the "strong" button and that was one of the best cups of coffee I've had. Speed: Hot water on demand. This machine heats the water right before it hits the pod. There is no internal reservoir the water is first pumped into to heat first. This means the speed of use is much faster. My previous unit had this and it took a bit longer to get that first cup. Because there is no internal reservoir there is less places for scaling to take place. Using filtered water also reduces this buildup. Extraction: This unit is cooler than some other units and extracts at 192 with a final cup temp of about 165. This is less than coffee enthusiasts recommend. I taste no difference as my coffee still had a rich and bold flavor. For someone who enjoys coffee without all the fine tuning this works great. Ascetically pleasing: I love how small this unit is and how it looks on the counter. It doesn't have a LCD readout with the time or a way to auto set for an automatic cup. The hot water on demand eliminates this need. Just turn it on and you have a cup in maybe a minute. Also, without an LCD display, less to break. Clean up: The area that the pod is inserted in is not concave as my previous unit was. It can be easily wiped clean. My previous unit could get a buildup of crud around the pod area. That can't happen with this unit. Descaling setting: While I've not used it yet, I like that it has a descaling setting when I do clean out my machine. My previous didn't have this and it took longer to run cycles. Cons: Factory taste!! My first two cups of coffee tasted like crap. I assumed this was because it was still getting the factory taste out of the unit. On the 3rd attempt I used the "strong" button and wow I tasted a difference. I'm also using zero water for my coffee. Overall if you want a "no thrills" machine that makes coffee fast and very well then I recommend this product.

GREAT VALUE & CONVENIENCE
By Online Reviewer on Reviewed in the United States on March 24, 2025
I purchased this Keurig, as well as many other Keurig models over the years. Based on extensive use and experience: RELIABLE … FOR A YEAR+ We make a total of 2-4 cups each morning and our Keurigs typically lasted a year, one lasted almost 2 years. CONVENIENT K-CUPS … FOR SOME K-cup coffee pods are sold everywhere in an abundance of flavors, but Decaf can be hard to find and rarely as flavored coffee. Not sure why Decaf drinkers are marginalized. Many people such as myself cannot have caffeine, while many others simply choose to just say No … yet Decaf K-cups are scarce, and flavored decaf K-cups are almost non-existent. Decaf drinkers are a large market, yet we remain grossly underserved. FILL YOUR OWN, RINSE, REPEAT Some models come with a reusable K-cup, which can also be purchased separately, for those who wish to use their own favorite ground coffee. This is a nice option as it allows stronger coffee to be brewed. But these cups must be rinsed after each use, which makes this a much less convenient option. A single-cup drip coffee maker might be more efficient in this case. AFFORDABLE SELECTION Keurig now has a wide selection of coffee makers which all seem very reasonably priced. While many are single-serve, they also offer carafe styles as well as single serve + carafe options. Even the cost of K-cup Coffee is reasonably priced at around $0.60 per serving (vs Premium Single Serve Coffee Maker pods from around $1.05-$3.00). WEAK COFFEE Almost everyone I talk to l o v e s the convenience of their Keurig BUT complains of the weak watered-down coffee it produces — even when brewed on the “strong” setting. If you’ve ever opened a K-cup coffee pod, it contains very little coffee. CONCENSUS Based on my personal experience, prolific conversations, and reading other’s reviews, the top weakness is “makes weak coffee” and the top benefit is “convenience.” So as long as convenience trumps flavor, at a reasonable price, Keurigs remain a great value.
