High Functioning Device without the "Premium" price tag...

After reviewing and searching for the best deals on USB-C hubs, this takes the cake for 13-1s. This by far had the best pricing for the build quality of ports and outer casing (which is metal, not plastic). The assortment of connections available is what really sold me here. Type-C (PD and Data), Ethernet, VGA, 3.5mm Audio Jack, 5 USB ports (2X 3.0 + 3X 2.0), and 2 SD slots (Micro+a normal SD slot) all on a pigtail. The versatility here covers 90% of what most people will interact with. This provides plenty of power to a MacbookPro and allows me to still keep my case on it. The actual size is bigger than originally perceived, however, not a deal breaker in any way. It still fits in my hand for easy carry and stores easily in my travel bag. Cannot speak for the longevity of this device, however, from the reviews I have read and the quality I see in front of me, I foresee many years with this and at the price purchased, it makes this a no brainer. Most people will pay a higher price than cheaper units out there to last longer, and this is no exception. Is this as cheap as you can go for a USB-C hub, no, but that's a loaded question depending on the connections you want. I was looking at an 8-1 for about 10-15 less and a 4 in 1 for 20-25 less...but again...it all matters about what connections you need available. I can run a triple or quad monitor setup with this as well (currently dual + laptop screen). Super happy with this choice and happy to buy again if I ever need a spare!

Poorly and oddly made

This did not work for me at all using a Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. A retaining ring around the USB-C input port on the front (the one you use to supply power to all your devices) simply pulled off and left itself attached to the plug (the one supplied by Samsung). Strike 1. It would not supply power to the Tascam iXR (LED light flashing). Strike 2. It would not supply video to my monitor through either the HDMI or VGA port. Strike 3. The shape of this device isn't readily available in the pictures, but it's curved on the top and bottom which makes for very awkward placement; you cannot set your phone on its top and whatever surface it's sitting on makes it wobble. Finally, there's the placement of the ports. As a note to designers of these types of electronic devices, it makes a lot more sense from a usability perspective to place the power and video ports on the "back" of the device. Kudos to the designer for placing the SD slots and headphone jack on the front, but having the video port on the front makes for an awkward desktop setup. I have a feeling the majority of "5 star" reviews may have something to do with the $20 Amazon gift card promised for writing reviews (more on that later); it states "If you are satisfied with our products please write fair reviews for us". As I have no interest in compensation for reviews of products I purchase, and am decidedly *not* satisfied with this product, this is my honest evaluation of this product and will be returning it for a refund as soon as possible. It's quite possible I received a defective unit, and I may contact the manufacturer to see what they'll do for replacement, but to be perfectly honest, after using this one time I can say this is simply not for me and my purposes. Right now I'm using a QGeeM 7 in 1 Type C Hub which is working great in DEX mode attached to a monitor, Logitech Unifying Receiver for wireless keyboard and mouse, and my Tascam iXR external audio interface for headhpone and microphone.
