Great Bike Computer
By T. Sullivan on Reviewed in the United States on July 30, 2024
I'll start by saying that Garmin isn't the best company out there, they have a bad habit of getting into a area and buying other companies and then stopping and moving to something else. That said, they made a great bike computer. I didn't need to most expensive unit, but decided on this unit. The display is easy to read, and hooks to Wi-Fi so updates and downloads work fine. It supports a lot of various bike items like the Varia light/radar unit. You can select various screens while riding, from data to maps. There are different programs, Road, Mountain, etc. I use the road selection and watch my data as I'm riding a 1-mile loop for now. You use the Garmin Connect app on your phone and can see the results after or review it on the computer. I put on a case and screen protector to be safe. It mounts to the holder with a simple turn to lock it in place or remove it after the ride. I'm riding 5 miles a day currently and after about 2 weeks I still have 60% plus battery life. There is a simple USB-C port on the bottom under a cover to plug in and recharge the unit. There was a small sale when I purchased the unit so that helped some. Overall, I'm very happy with the unit and hopefully, it keeps working without any issues.

Non intuitive interface and washed out screen
By Amazon Customer on Reviewed in the United States on August 24, 2024
Pretty disappointed by this purchase. The screen wasn't vivid, it was sometimes hard to see the colors. The map view is very cluttered. There's a lot of displayed info that I don't care about and some things that I do care about (like climb segment info) weren't very clear. For that price, I expected something better. Perhaps if it were $100 cheaper I would've just said meh and kept it.

Stopped working after 1 year and 2 weeks

Was: 1 Star. Really liked this unit until it abruptly stopped working after exactly 54 weeks. Won’t recharge. Screen dead. I will contact Garmin and update this review if situation warrants it. Now: 5 Star. Update 12/2/24: Called Garmin Tech Srv. Technician advised to hold the On/Off Power Button for 60 seconds to reset the unit. This fixed the problem. I wasn’t expecting such a simple fix.

I love this Garmin and I use all of the accessories when riding. The statistics help to keep me motivated to do ride more and to improve.

The accuracy and readability of this device is great. I find it very useful. The connectivity does work even while cycling from remote areas. There is good value for money.
Powerful, But Difficult To Set up

I have owned this device for several months and it DOES A LOT. No doubt about it. However, between the software on the device and the Garmin Connect mobile phone app they are the most convoluted pieces of software I have seen in a long time. I'm pretty adept with computers, but I find the software very frustrating. I had a friend send his back because it was so difficult to set up. Once you get it set up, it does a lot.....no doubt. It is getting there, however.
Bought as a replacement for my husband.

My husband loves this for his bike. He had one that lasted 5 years until he unfortunately crashed and broke it. He looked at all the others and really wanted one like his old one. He is one happy bicyclist.

I have this on my mountain bike. I would not be without it. Great to read while peddling and it takes the bounces of a rugged trail. A must have if you bike toad or mountain.

Old tech. Still pretty good. Way overpriced.
Excellent, except cadence sensor will NOT connect to device

I like this a lot. I did a ride the day after I received it, using the route map provided online. Easy and nearly foolproof. The heart rate sensor and speed sensors connected with no problems. But try as I might, I cannot get the cadence sensor to connect to the device. I've tried a new battery and watching YouTube videos for help. No luck. While I don't HAVE to have a cadence sensor, for this price it should work as it is supposed to.
