Blown Away By The Sound Quality Of These Headphones!
By Marc P. Angeles on Reviewed in the United States on September 15, 2020
These are my first ANC headphones, and I must say, I am in love with them! I've owned the Ticpods Free wireless earbuds by Mobvoi for a couple of years (I supported their Kickstarter campaign) and was very happy with them, so when I heard they came out with these new ANC over-ear headphones, I was eager to give them a try. My first impression upon opening them was that they were built using quality materials and craftsmanship. I really like the heft and design of these headphones. I opted for the silver color because I think they look better than the black ones. The cushions on the ear pads and head band are smooth and soft to the touch, and are extremely comfortable! I own a cheap pair of over-ear headphones from another brand, and the ear pads are slightly too small for my ears which always caused soreness after extended use, but my ears actually fit perfectly in these! Please check out some photos that I took of the unboxing to see what came in the box. Pairing with my Pixel 2XL was very quick and easy. I thought I would put these to the test on my first use by wearing them while blowing the fall leaves with my leaf blower - on the high setting. Yes, I know, what a bold move! I wasn't quite sure what to expect. With ANC on (by default), I fired up my playlist and I was completely SHOCKED at how well the ANC worked! Even with the leaf blower on high I could barely hear it in the background! I used the headphones for a few hours, and the battery had only drained by 10%, which is in-line with the stated run-time of up to 30 hours. Better yet I experienced no soreness around my ears. I did work up a good sweat in LA's 90 degree heat, so the cushions did get wet. A quick dry-down with a towel and all was back to new. We will see how long these materials last, though. These headphones have great sound and clarity, crisp highs, solid mid range, and smooth low end frequencies. My playlist varies from Pop to Classical music, and no matter what genre was thrown at it, it maintained a well balanced sound throughout. I'm not a hard core audiophile, but I do appreciate good sound, and these have them. The signal range on these are great - I left my phone in the front yard and was able to go to the back of the house (over 50 feet) before it started to cut out. I did also try these wired to my computer, and the sound was just as good. I just wish the audio cable was a bit longer. I never actually made a phone call with these, but I'm sure it would sound great. Other positives: - I like how it announces when ANC is turned on or off - Came with a small pouch to hold the accessories - Simple but nice zippered case for the headphones One not-so-positive: I noticed that when ANC is on, if I moved around quickly (like walking briskly), there was a slight "skippiness" to the audio if the headphones got shook a little, as if the sound was dropping in and out very briefly. With ANC off, this did not happen. I reached out to Tickasa support about this, and the technical team explained that the ANC generates airflow and then causes the horn diaphragm to make abnormal and irregular movements, which will produce diaphragm sound. In other words, these aren't the best headphones for working out in, but that's not what they were designed for, and that's why I still have my wireless earbuds. I'll keep these to use when I really want to enjoy my music with high quality sound and comfort. Considering what you get for the price, these are an extremely great pair of headphones to own. Hopefully I will get many years of use out of them, and hopefully my wife doesn't take them from me. :) I hope my review helps with your purchasing decision, and thanks for reading!

Misled by ratings
By Kwai Fan So on Reviewed in the United States on December 10, 2020
I thought I had a good deal when the price went down to $60 and the rating is not bad. It turned out that it's still not worth $60: -loud hiss when using bluebooth with ANC -Mic is not okay. People couldn't hear me -Poor battery. The battery indicator is not accurate. It jumped quickly from 60% to 30%. -The sound is very different when ANC is on. Looks like EQ is applied with ANC?
