iRobot Roomba E5 5150 Robot Vacuum

My niece got this for her brother as a housewarming gift and he loved it. She was excited to set it up for him. She did th mapping for him and it works amazingly he loves it he’s very busy and this cuts down on his cleaning time. It’s easy to use easy to set up and works wonders.

This does a great job. It DEFINATELY picks up more dirt, hair and debris. We have to cats that seem to shed a lot. This machine does a good job. It is much quieter than the 500. I bought this from the amazon warehouse. It was either an open box or a return. It looked brand new and came in the original box. I am VERY PLEASED with how it cleans. Love the fact we can tell Alexa to turn it on or go home.

The performance of the device was pretty good, I have nothing negative to say about that. My 3-star rating is in it's capabilities. I'll admit, I should've done more research - 'Adaptive' to me meant that the device would learn along the way, adapt to its surroundings. That is not how the robot vacuum industry views it - instead, it means that the vacuum will not kill itself by running off a stair cliff or will realize that there's an immovable object in front of it. As a result, it cleans by moving about the space without any real knowledge of where it's been thus it may clean a space or it may not. If you're good with that, then this is a good machine to purchase. However, if you're like me and wants all floor space of your house to be maintained, move on.

This room a the e5 has a very small dust bin so it leaves fur balls everywhere and the bin is never full. Also it doesn’t stay charged as long as previous one. Returnimg

Second one I’ve purchased, but this one has large cracks in the dust collection bin, bumper sensor screen is very scratched up, and parts and cord were dirty and covered in dog hair. It also sounds louder than my other one.

I works well with my carpet. My wife does drop a ton of hair, but it is able to pick up all of them. I set it up to clean every other day. Just remember to remove the dust after it running, and make sure you don’t have any charging cord or other cords on the floor

Before this one I had bought a cheaper off brand robot and it was great...but it only lasted about a year and then I wasn't able to contact anyone from the company. So I decided to get a name-brand robot, in comparison I feel like the cheaper one had a larger bin ( I have to constantly empty this one out, the other could clean the same area multiple days before needing to be emptied. ), and was smarter. The cheaper one would clean the whole kitchen/living room area without issue. This one likes to clean the same area over and over, goes in circles, also seems like it doesn't know how to get "home" most of the time,🤦🏽‍♀️. It'll be so loud I'll tell it to go home and 20 minutes later it's down the hall in the opposite direction of it's base. As far as picking up dust, dirt, pet hair, it does a decent job.... when it actually gets to that area. But then having to empty the bin if it's full all kinds of dirt/debris just falls out and goes everywhere as soon as I open the compartment to empty the bin.

Took out of the box and it never worked. I called I Robot and they walked me through cleaning it, but it still said error 6 'stuck on a cliff'. It was always on a flat clear open wood floor. My guess is that this was never refurbished or checked to see if it worked. The robot was also clearly used for a long time before I got it, which I wouldn't have cared as long as it continued working. I ended up going in and buying a new one so I didn't have this problem again.
