Great Product!
By Sophie S. on Reviewed in the United States on October 26, 2020
I absolutely love my MacBook. I just switched from an HP and I am SO happy with this purchase. I was really nervous because its so expensive but I'm so happy with the quality of this product. It has so many amazing features like the speakers, touch ID, touch pad swipe thing. It connects easily with my phone and I really like that feature. It had been AMAZING for all the online school I have to do as a college student right now. Its thin, light, and my battery lasts literally ALL day unless I'm doing a lot of zoom calls. One thing I don't like is that the camera quality for said zoom calls is not the best quality, but that's minor compared to the good qualities of this macbook.

i3 not adequate for Zoom
By Kenneth L. Meador on Reviewed in the United States on May 21, 2020
First, I am a loyal Mac user. I "upgraded" from a (base model) late-2013 MacBook Pro to this Air assuming I was getting a better product. For the most part, this computer is awesome. Its a brand new Macbook. What's not to love? Well, in the age of coronavirus, two crucial things, the camera and the i3's inability to use virtual backgrounds on Zoom. I was shocked the first time that I used the webcam on this and, even though I thoroughly research the device, I did not really realize how antiquated this tech is. The picture is grainy, low-res, and inadequate for my needs. So, then I tried to use a virtual background. I received a notice that I needed an i5 processor in order to use that feature. I'm in the process of exchanging this laptop for a Pro, but I'll be honest, I feel a bit ripped off. I'm like the Apple OS and appreciate that I don't have some of the issues that I had when I was a PC user, and/or with my PC at work. But if I had spent $1000 for a new PC I wouldn't have a 10 year old camera and a processor that can't handle Zoom virtual backgrounds. I would be able to do these basic tasks with even a $500-750 PC. Now I'm stuck paying an extra $300 for a computer that can handle these very basic tasks. So, my suggestion for you, if you're using this for Zoom/work/webcam meetings pay now for the i5 and be aware that the camera on this laptop is not very good.
