Zero Stars – A Sticky Situation of Regret
By Quadmom on Reviewed in the United States on March 17, 2025
⭐️ Zero Stars – A Sticky Situation of Regret ⭐️ Oh, HEDYNSHINE, you had one job… and you failed spectacularly. First off, the box this thing arrived in wasn’t even the one from the product photos. It was like ordering a designer bag and getting a plastic grocery sack instead. Suspicious? Absolutely. But hey, I was still hopeful—until I realized the connectors were missing. Maybe they got lost in the alternate dimension where my missing socks go? Who knows. Then came the real heartbreak. Each roll of lights just… gave up halfway through. No dramatic flickering, no smoky farewell—just a sad, silent refusal to shine. Naturally, I spent an hour troubleshooting like some kind of LED electrician, only to conclude that this product was about as reliable as a weather forecast. And the best part? Amazon wants me to mail back sticky, used adhesive that we had to rip off the walls and bed. Right. Let me just stuff that tangled, dusty mess into an envelope and pretend it’s not the saddest return package ever. Bottom line: if you enjoy disappointment, wasted time, and peeling used tape off your walls, this is the product for you! Otherwise, save yourself the trouble and buy literally anything else.

My strip ripped and I was wondering if anyone knew how to fix this? I’d hate to waste an entire 50’ of strip lights

I love this product for the price but.... I did notice that some of the LED lights stayed purple. They are good quality for the price. The colors are very pretty and I like the variation of shades. 50 feet fit almost perfectly fits my room. If you are looking for cheap LED lights these are for you. overall great purchase.
A great buy

Sooo these are super cool, easy to put up, stick well... and the app is AWESOME. However, I got to the last corner of my daughters room (so about 30 ft in- its a 10'x10' room), and it started shorting and a small section was going out but it was still the same color past the part that was going out. If I didn't push it hard onto the ceiling (like to stick it on good) then it would stay lit so I left it loose, but then it was out of sync color-wise with the rest of the strip (I think its an issue with Red specifically bc it wouldn't work at all). Well, I ordered some connector pieces same day delivery (literally came 4 hrs later- god love Amazon) to get it squared away for her, but started realizing that the connections were not lining up. After many Google searches and finally a product in here that popped up saying that they have 8mm connector pieces, I realized that the lights are 8mm and not 10mm (which, the 10mm connection seems way more common than 8mm, apparently). What's frustrating is that the listing for these lights don't mention anywhere what size they are. I'm new to this guys... so this has taken a whole lot of my time trying to fix them and now 2 more days to get the right connectors that will *hopefully* fix them being out of sync. Anyway, I've cut up the strip quite a bit at this point and definitely wasted several feet, so I'm hoping this works 🤞 because I love the app, and have some cool ideas for her room to connect the other 50 ft! So, 3 stars bc- 5 for awesome app, easy install super fun and great price, 2 for not being specific in the description about size which i Im most frustrated about (and also note- that the photos they have that show the close ups of the connection are also incorrect. It shows 12v and its actually 24v, not sure if that matters or what), and 3 stars for the lights being somewhat defective out of the box. Will probs update my review when I get the new connectors. I wish I wasnt having to deal with this though 😔. I try to avoid returns as much as possible, especially for this price- knowing that the vendor & Amazon would take quite a loss on it 😕

For my purposes these lights (4x) are what I needed for a project. Using the White leds the 4 of them on full, will light up my 20' x 15' living room to full worklight status. Using the White leds only, and turning them down, quite a bit, it still lights the whole room. Using RGB only, it will be an ambient light enough to keep from tripping , not enough to read at all . using the selectable colors , it makes a good ambient color , and nightlight. The lights can be controlled with an IR remote , that would be difficult to get seen by all 4 lights at once, but when it can , all 4 will react to the remote operation. via any of the remotes. The lights can be set to white , and in RGB enough colors (but not every possible) with the IR remote control. The remote can dim the light, the White or the RGB, sometimes sticks with white after being connected. The cute effects fade strobe pulse etc are easily started up via the remote. and speed for the effects can then be adjusted with the Brightness buttons. All color effects fading strobing etc with the remote seem to be RGB based, like White strobing is not the power white, it is the RGB combo. a White strobe can be initiated manually during music play with the remote. So for all the functional practical operations the remote is sufficient to operate one light when pointed at it, and all the lights at once, if the IR sensor at the light can see the remote. Pulling the Plug out of the wall, the light at a stabilized setting , will return to the setting it was at, even including the white being on, or the effects running. For my purposes this is the best way for it to return from power switching or interruption. Now we get to "connect" it to computer to be able to do "everything" the light it capable of. (insert hair pulling icon) Bluetooth communication to light items is NOT observed in my standard BT settings, light connection can Not be diagnosed in the android settings Bluetooth. I see no way to connect without the software , the software indicates that it connects with a password. When one or Many lights are connected via the BT software, you can gang them all up in a zone or section , make sure they are all connected , then control the color, sync the lights digitally to the music . set it for various effects, some not accessible via the remote. IF there is a problem with a light not connecting, it is possible that it will need to be unplugged , and then reconnected in software, I think the 1-2 times a day if ever occurrence , seems to be more about a connection disconnection BT issues. you Can keep it connected and rolling non-stop for days, if your computer device , and the BT connection (like distance) is maintained because you got it worked out. {this is where one star is lost, whos fault it is that BT is an issue isn't my consideration} 2 ways it will do music or sound to light banging, not available with the remote (nor is there any mic in remote or unit it needs the software to do that). With the softwares OWN proprietary music player , and no not the web play, or tv or all the other things, Just the player in the software, and only the song media that is available to the software, I assume via android media library in this case. It is Bluetooth, there IS a delay, to solution the most annoying delay to Me . I run the music from the android device also through Bluetooth to the speakers. making the sound delayed also. The second method, is to use the MIC mode, speak into the devices mic, play music from some other source. this is fun for about 2 minutes, but the delay is atrocious , i think about 1/2 second (unmeasured) because of that, i don't care about that mode. If your having troubles with the music mode, Oh You Will :-) there are 2 buttons in the software , that you must locate, before you give up. In the Music Tab , where the music player is. to the left of the controls is a Equalizer icon, Yea THAT, it has to be set correct On the top of the software above the music player controls is an OFF button. both of these buttons can stop the music to light fun you , , you aren't having :-) There are other features, i have no reason to care about, so i am not the person to analyze them
They are cool, but have problems.

I ordered 6 of the battery-operated strings for use in group Halloween costumes. The costumes looked amazing! The LEDs are bright (green seems to be the brightest), there are many color choices, there's many lighting functions available (music mode and color-changing were cool), and 20 feet per string was more than enough for each costume. It was also nice that each string only used 3 AA batteries versus the 4 AAs required for other battery-operated strings. The description is misleading with regards to cutting. It says you can cut after every three LEDs—not so! The cut lines are available after every *five* LEDs, except when there is an unexpected soldered connection present instead. This frequently made it impossible to cut where I needed; instead, I'd have to double a string back on itself, then secure it with a zip tie. It was quite annoying. Also, the last section of 5 LEDs on the 15 LED strip on my husband's right leg just decided after awhile that blue wouldn't work. I don't know why, as we didn't have to cut there. We turned his costume to yellow, but it was annoying that we were were suddenly limited on color choice. It also states in the description that there's USB charging available, but I don't see how. The wire that connects the LED string to its battery pack is USB, but it doesn't come with a charging brick. There were no instructions included with each kit, so I guess you just have to guess on what kind of a brick to use/how long to leave them charging? The remotes are garbage. Of the 6 I received, only one worked consistently. The other 5 worked intermittently, or not at all. I used a remote from a different LED string most of the time, just to make sure that I could change colors, and turn power on and off when needed. Overall, these are decent lights with bad remotes. They made our Halloween costumes great, after we overcame some trials. They're probably better up on a wall than worn as a costume.
