Great Laptop for Students
By sabrina on Reviewed in the United States on August 10, 2020
My old Asus was much larger, it was an i7, 1TB internal storage, with the keypad to the right of the keyboard, and a touch screen. It was the best laptop I had ever owned, after about 5 years it ended up crapping out on me which made me find (and buy) this one. I was skeptical at first because of the i5, no touch screen, and no keypad, but It was within my budget and NEEDED a good laptop since I am a full-time online student. I have been using it for a few months now and I LOVE it! The keyboard lighting up is my favorite thing about it, the ice blue color is much better looking than I thought it would be, it's very thin and light, as well as easy to use and the color quality (especially while watching a movie/video) is PERFECT. Not being a gamer I don't really need to have an i7 so the i5 is good enough for being a student and the internal storage (even though it's not a terabyte) is good enough since I utilize an external hard drive anyways. I couldn't be happier about this purchase. If you're using this for school, or anything simple then I'd say this is a great laptop for you.

Came with faulty hardware and now I'm in the hole
By Rochelle on Reviewed in the United States on November 6, 2020
I was really excited about this laptop but mine came with faulty hardware. I was going back and forth with ASUS tech support and they've suggested I send it back which is not possible because I'm in a different country for med school. When it worked it was the best laptop experience I've had so far (and I've gone through at least 4) but when it's not working its unusable. I can't rely on it, so it's like I flushed my money down the toilet. Sitting here I have an exam soon. No reliable laptop to sit it with. As if if I needed more problems in a pandemic. I don't think I'll be getting another ASUS.

Another great ASUS laptop

Update: I'm dinging one star because this laptop only supports one additional display. The integrated graphics can handle up to 3 displays, but only the hdmi port can export a video signal. The usb c port only supports data transfer. First off, I'm a big fan of Asus and I've had good luck with their products. My last laptop was an Asus RoG that still works pretty well 8 years later. I no longer game on PC or edit video so I finally decided it was time to downsize to something more portable. For such a thin laptop there are a good number of I/O ports. I wish this charged via USB C, but the power adapter is pretty small. USB C is the future, but in 2020 there is still a need for ports like HDMI and it beats having to carry a dongle around. The trackpad isn't the best, but they do include a USB mouse with the laptop for free. The fingerprint scanner is pretty reliable. Performance wise this laptop is great for office use. No problem handling a ton of Chrome tabs. It starts up so quickly that there isn't much of a need to ever put it to sleep. The fans can get a bit loud under heavy load, but I didn't find it that bothersome. Wifi and Bluetooth connectivity are reliable.

What a great laptop. Got it on Friday. Everything is super. Looked for 4 weeks and read all reviews. I selected this one because all the reviews were so good. They were true to their comments. Love it.

Awful Wifi / Laggy Processing

Bought it literally to do schoolwork. Failed an exam because the wifi on this was so spotty. Also kept dropping in and out of a zoom meeting. I'm literally 10 feet away from the WIFI Router and it's dropping the signal/going in and out. Literally 10 feet away. There's no one else using the internet and it's been doing this for the past 3 days. The drivers are up to date, windows is up to date, the router works perfectly fine with my phone/other peoples phones. There's no option to "Hardwire" hookup so it's wifi or bust. Pros: Battery Life is nice, it's slim. Pretty nice backlit keyboard and it's smaller than average. Turns on really quick and the screen is gorgeous. I like the metallic brushed aluminum outside. Makes it feel really sleek and looks cool. Cons: The Keyboard buttons for the directionals are small, there's no numpad (which I didn't take a point off for, just remarking), it struggles to run like 3-4 tabs and maybe a program like spotify or adobe shop. For a 700-800$ laptop, you'd think it'd complete the most basic of basic tasks. Literally made me fail an exam because it took ages to connect/kept making me redo it all because It'd drop connection and the proctoring software would make me restart/re-verify my identity/etc. I'm just still in shock that it would struggle to process 3-5 chrome tabs and a word doc/outlook. That is not a hard task load by any stretch of the imagination. Returning this asap. NOT recommended. Go find something that actually connects to the internet and that can handle basic schoolwork tasks.
Pretty great if you do not need speakers

This is my 3rd Asus. I really like this laptop BUT I am not a fan of the speakers being at the bottom. I think that is a waste of nice sound. I work in bed a lot and I could really consider having speakers on top like a normal laptop rather than have them at the bottom. I use this for basic items. Other than that, it is a solid laptop. Definitely would keep using it and works sooo great!!

I always liked ASUS zenbook. My previous one was ZEN book too and that lead for purchasing this model. However, this one is pretty heavy. This is good laptop for people who needs for work only. For other purposes, it won't be the best fit. It is not the best, but solid for the price

Computer is as advertised. Big difference with laptops over the last five years. Glad I did my homework; happy with this Asus.
