Excellent for a cheap ANC option
By Kyle Weiss on Reviewed in the United States on May 25, 2023
It's always a risk when one is on a budget, and really need a good, dependable tool to get through the day. I'm autistic, and poor, and the Falwedi S6 did things right. They are my first pair of ANC over-ear headphones, and after trying several pairs of various high-dollar ANC headphones, I had to make a choice: go with an unknown maker, or skip meals to get brand-name in a few months? Falwedi did a great job: * Noise-cancellation is excellent * Battery life is beyond expectations * Build quality is solid * Design is ergonomic * Comfort is great * Button accessibility is good Fit was my biggest concern. I can wear these all day with minimal discomfort. The over-ear padding is soft memory-like foam, they truly fit over the ears (not just on them) and there's even padding inside the cups. The band padding for the top of the head is good, too. I don't care how good the noise-cancellation is or how good the sound is: if something is uncomfortable, I will not wear them. Falwedi wins. Noise-cancellation is excellent. It does let through a little more vocal/mid-range sound than high-end brands, but not by much. It excels at cancelling "everyday noises." Heavy bass and rumbles are cancelled to nearly zero. Mid-high and high pitch noises are nearly gone. Voices it has a harder time with, however, for work or for a necessary conversation that can be a benefit. It does quiet voices and other things down significantly. Sound quality is very good for music, movies, games, etc. The ANC is controlled by a sliding switch independently, and there are buttons for volume up/down (and skip) and a power button. With ANC enabled, the sound being played is stifled a little, however it doesn't significantly impact the listening experience. Bluetooth connectivity is flawless, the S6 has a great range, too! Battery life was my biggest surprise! I can use these with bluetooth connectivity and ANC going for three to four solid days without a charge. There is a pleasant tone that alerts when the battery is near depletion. It also can accept a full charge in 1.5 - 2 hours. It does come with a simple case, and the folding feature makes them easy to take places. I find the best places to use them is around the house, grocery shopping, and work. I have taken them to larger, louder events and they do great, however it is harder to hear things you may need to hear, like alerts and conversations. Phone calls are okay, the microphone isn't great but it does work decently. In a pinch, a 3.5 aux cable can be used for wired use with the ANC, however there is no mechanical volume control, it relies on the device itself. Gaming, for example, this can be tricky because most gaming headphones need external volume control as consoles don't usually support this function. It's been over a month now and I still love these headphones. They are a necessary tool in my everyday life now, and I hope they last a very long time. Thank you, Falwedi--you did me good!

Not as expected, with APT-X, USB-C and a big battery being in place of the sacrifices.
By FWD on Reviewed in the United States on December 6, 2020
I start out by saying that I love seeing APT-X being an option built in, because it does clean up the sound and allow for more sonic clarity, and you won't find it on probably any other headphone in its price range, which is a shame as it should be a standard in most BT headphones/headsets by this point. I love the long battery life (although I have not tested, but it was still showing 60% from 80% factory charge after accidently leaving on playing spotify music on medium volume for several hours throughout the night on my phone), the comfort is just great, and USB-C being included (unsarcastically) is an absolute plus, since micro-USB is still a standard in many devices, but the build/design and sound quality did not meet my expectations while still being more than acceptable for the current price of writing this review as long as you get these headphones for at least 35-40% under its usual price. Features: 4/5. Following much of what I mentioned above. There aren't many bells and whistles, let alone ones that are revolutionary or different from other headphones, except for one that is not usually found on any other bluetooth headphones as I can recall, and that is APT-X, which is a audio codec that greatly cleans up the signal over bluetooth, improving upon standard SBC format. It's not LDAC, but it does help with bringing out the sound of a playback better, and cleaning up the signal in certain environments, however it is still compressed for the most part, which means there are subjective improvements in audio quality, and also depends on each headphone producing the sound. The addition of a 1000mah long battery and USB-C is a nice plus as well, although nothing to write home about, as it should be the standard for devices now. It also features ANC, which is standard for most bluetooth headphones, as well as including CVC 8.0. Build quality and comfort: 3.7/5. The build is average with mostly lightweight plastic and weak points on rotating/swiveling cups having no resistance allowing loose travel with dangling parts, and height adjusters having metal only on the outer side of the headphone, same with cups, making the overall hinges seem scrawny and not greatly reinforced, QC issues caused one of my foam pads on the right earcup to be is flatter and less dense than the left, slightly changing the feel/pressure and possibly sound on one side, but comfort overall is still fairly great with ears just barely fitting inside the moldings, and clamping force seems to be either just right, or slightly looser than it should. The headphone sometimes wants to fall off when leaning backwards, due to the soft materials and ∩-shape of the headband and clamp, and the cups in certain situations swivel away from ears, more so at certain height adjustments and/or when I lie down on my back with these on, making using these while resting a little finicky. The headband has great substantial soft synthetic leather materials and dense but not overtly-plush padding, which contributes to the overall bulk of the headphones, but I have yet to find complaints in that department aside from having less grip with certain head positions, probably due to the tall ∩-shaped design of the headphone itself relative to the earcups, but overall being luxurious-feeling with the little weight of the headphones and clamping force helping the comfort as well, not to mention the earpads having this marshmallow plush material that rebounds like memory foam, which is a plus when it comes to the comfort as it seems to just absorb any overall pressure. One gripe I have with the QC, is the misaligned manufacturing of the headband, which causes the headphone to stretch asymmetrically, but this is minor and barely noticeable when it's on your head, but may affect how you use height adjustment, clamp and symmetry on both sides. Sound: 3/5. The sound signature of my unit is a little bit lacking with some strong points, it is a fairly dark-sounding headphone, lacking any sort of intriguing fidelity, details or musical "excitement", a slight increased low-end with rich tight sub bass and a touch of brightness and openness in the high-end mids and treble, allowing for some sparkle and binaural 3D effects to come through, but the overall signature is slightly recessed creating a dull, more "veiled" overall sound, having little detail come through, with APT-X helping to reinforce some clarity and sound quality of recordings and playback. The soundstage follows in the average territory with that higher-end "touch" expanding spaciousness a little bit in areas; stereo imaging and instrument separation seem to be average or above average, which probably underlie its ability along with the slight sparkle/openness in the high-end to produce a slight surround sound 3d-like effect at times in tracks. ANC is below-average and not worth turning on as it isn't strong enough to overpower its passive isolation and isn't as strong as another pair of headphones I own with hybrid ANC, however, unlike those, I haven't noticed any disturbing white noise or hissing, which doesn't matter in loud environments anyway; these headphone themselves have okay passive isolation in normal not so loud environments without ANC turned on taking into account the clamping force and earpads, but also QC and manufacturing tolerances on various units will play a role in how much passive isolation you will get. Due keep in mind, in order to use the APT-X codec, the device that the headphones are being paired to needs to support the format as well for playback, and so do the apps. Most modern smartphones and music/video apps should be able to support APT-X, but the headphones will work on the default SBC format if the device it's being paired to does not support other codecs, or is in a poor bluetooth environment. Update: 12/8/20. Hard case has broken seams and loose threads, and there are scratches/scuffs on headphones, so, I would describe my unit as a "B-grade". I do not recommend these headphones for the features alone, unless you aren't paying the full MSRP. Right now, they are roughly half off "$30", I believe the price fluctuates usually in the $46-$67 range. My final conclusion is, there are other options out there, and while they are comfortable and have some up-to-date features, fairly comfortable, there are some concerns about the build quality, and even sound quality expectations, however, if these remain in the $30 price range, they are worth the buy. Thank you.
