ALFUHEIM Safe

I love this gun safe. It is very aesthetically pleasing and large enough to to hold two compact guns or one full size and some other items. Unlike some folks, I had no problem setting up the biometrics, although I could not figure out how to get it to register more than one fingerprint. But, It did not matter to me since I live alone and I didn’t really need to spend the time figuring it out. After 6 months of regular use the biometrics are still as good as day one. I had intended to keep it in a drawer by my bed and it would have fit perfectly, but with the design it makes it very hard to use the biometrics or the keypad due to the diagonal angle of the design. Also the Hinge is very powerful and slams open which is great because it opens fully in a split second. But, at the same time it was a second reason not to keep it in a drawer because the door does open slightly further than the back of safe and would slap my nightstand and mar wood if I let it. That being said you will need to place it out about 1.5 to 2 inches from your wall if you have it on a countertop because it will smack the wall. If you plan to keep it on a shelf it needs roughly 10 inches above the safe to open fully. And lastly, even when full with gun, ammo, carry holster, passport, and an extra clip, it will still sawing back hard enough to pick up the front of the safe slightly and the whole safe will shift back slightly unless you brace it when you open it. This is not a con, and the strong hinge is something I prefer, but it would be perfect if I had fastened it to the surface I put it on. There might be some things I would change to make this my perfect safe such as an extra number on the code, an adjustable stopper on the door to have it swing open to a desired height, a light on the inside. But these are personal preferences and it’s still the best safe I found for my needs. (Food for thought Alfuheim!) When I bought this item, I had not seen nor heard of this company. And, this product had a single five star review, so I was a bit skeptical that it might have been a shill writing a review to get the product noticed, but man am I glad I did. It’s beautiful and it’s met all my needs! It will be interesting to see what innovations this company comes out with in future. I waited some time to write this review so I could give an honest take on this product. I hope this helps some of you make the decision that works for you.
