Great optic for $100.
By Bkinsey on Reviewed in the United States on September 14, 2021
Hard to complain about a $100 optic that does exactly what it should and fits the purpose I intended perfectly (Roni MCK/19x set up). As noted, this is a green dot sight. The MSR is very well made and appears to be very durable. Others have complained about the flip up lens covers and while they are a bit difficult to close it seems to be a nuance in technique rather than a design flaw. They close fine if you apply downward/forward pressure on the lower portion of the cover. The green dot is crisp and brightness settings are ample for a variety of conditions. More than 4 at low light seems to produce a bit of an emitter glare but that’s no big deal. 6-8 in daytime seems best for my eyes (slight astigmatism). Control knob is slightly stiff but loosened up after a few setting changes. Not an issue. Sight mounted fine on the MCK rail and is an absolute co-witness with the Magpul MBUS. Glass is clear and crisp - even through the lens covers being down. Again, no issue there. Zero easily achieved and held after a session of over 100 rds. I have other SIG optics and the MSR holds true to the design, ease of use and visual appeal of the others I own. No complaints for a $100 optic on a range/home defense toy. Would highly recommend.

First time disappointed with a Sig product
By christopher m. on Reviewed in the United States on March 11, 2023
I have a range of different products from Sig Sauer and I've always been completely satisfied with them. This green dot sight does not make that list and it's being returned. It did have some good things going for it. It's inexpensive. It has a bright and clear dot. It feels well built and quality materials. The mounting base seems okay. The problems I have with it are that the knob for turning it on and adjusting the brightness level is really hard to turn. I'm talking like so hard that at first I thought it didn't turn at all. Then the lens protector covers. Good luck getting them to snap back down. I almost couldn't get them to flip up because they are on so tight and then after I finally got them up it ti me about 5 minutes to get them to snap back down. I also dint like how the brightness turret doesn't keep going when you get to either the lowest or highest settings. Most of my other dot sights you can spin it from low to high and then keep spinning too get back to the low. This sight is a hard stop at the low and then you spin through up to the highest and it stops. So then if you want the lowest setting you have to go back the other way through all the numbers if that makes sense. I'll spend a little more and get the Romeo 5 like I have on some other guns that works great and has shake awake
