Great optic for $100.

Hard to complain about a $100 optic that does exactly what it should and fits the purpose I intended perfectly (Roni MCK/19x set up). As noted, this is a green dot sight. The MSR is very well made and appears to be very durable. Others have complained about the flip up lens covers and while they are a bit difficult to close it seems to be a nuance in technique rather than a design flaw. They close fine if you apply downward/forward pressure on the lower portion of the cover. The green dot is crisp and brightness settings are ample for a variety of conditions. More than 4 at low light seems to produce a bit of an emitter glare but that’s no big deal. 6-8 in daytime seems best for my eyes (slight astigmatism). Control knob is slightly stiff but loosened up after a few setting changes. Not an issue. Sight mounted fine on the MCK rail and is an absolute co-witness with the Magpul MBUS. Glass is clear and crisp - even through the lens covers being down. Again, no issue there. Zero easily achieved and held after a session of over 100 rds. I have other SIG optics and the MSR holds true to the design, ease of use and visual appeal of the others I own. No complaints for a $100 optic on a range/home defense toy. Would highly recommend.

VERY DISAPPOINTED

Purchased after watching many YouTube reviews. About the only good thing I can say is that the dot is sharp. The illumination control knob is so hard to turn that pliers were required to turn it the first time. It loosened up a little with use but is still ridiculous. There is absolutely no correlation (or consistency) between the windage/elevation clicks and the movement of the point of impact. One MOA per click is a joke. Sometimes 8 clicks won't move the POI at all, and the next time 2 clicks will move the POI 6 inches The best I could do on my measured 100-yard range was a decent group at about 8 o'clock and 4 inches. I gave up. The flip-up lens covers are going in the trash, if I don't send this thing back. They are so hard to open and close that they are almost useless. Tip: The included tool can be used to pry them open.
