decent hook style wireless headphones w a few flaws/annoyances - updated 11/16 - updated 12/18

1. comfort - they did seem to hurt a little bit in the beginning but I found that if you adjust the flexible hook tips slightly outward, the pain was gone. 2. sound - good to great for BT. Obv not as good as some wired buds/headphones. 3. BT connectivity - I did find connection drops when phone is in back pocket, more so when in left back pocket. Seems to be a same problem with other BT i have owned like the Anker Soundbud Curve. It also does not auto connect if you are turning on the X2 from off state, meaning if you turn off the X2 via long button press vs. putting them in charging case to turn off and removing to turn on. 4. Battery - my last point about the BT connectivity ties in w my issue on the battery. I seem notice shorter battery life between the case and the headset when I put the X2 in the charging case instead of turning off via button press. ie if I run the battery out of the buds, it lasts about 5 days at 1.5 hrs/day so about 7.5 hrs and the base seem to have about 3 charge cycles for the buds so this worked out to be about 20 days total. When I first started using the X2, I would put the buds into the base after each use and only got about 10-15 days before base and buds were drained. Also, in running the battery down in the X2 before charging, I noticed the right side would die out before left side. Android (Samsung) BT connection shows an estimate percentage of battery remaining and right side usually dies with the left side showing at least 40% remaining. Overall, battery life is very good though compared to the non-hook style buds. Will be contacting Anker and update my review. Update 11/16 - true to their always excellent customer support, they responded both to my posted question and email inquiry within 24hrs. They sent out a replacement unit instantly and just received yesterday. I'm upping from 3 to 4 stars for their response and support. I will update again after testing out the new unit and report back if 1st was just a fluke w battery issues. Nice work Anker/Soundcore! Thank you. Update 12/18 - I did find new replacement unit to have similar faster battery drain on the right vs. left. My guess is possibly b/c the right side is the BT connection to phone/player and the left BT connection is through the right side piece so you end up with faster battery drain on right. Just my guess. This is not really an issue if you regularly put the units in charging pod when not in use vs. my using up the battery before recharging. I have since gone back to regularly putting into charging pod after use and the replacement unit does seem to last about 20 days w 1.5-2 hr use each day. I'm upping from 4 to 5 stars for Anker/Soundcore's excellent customer service and support and overall build + sound quality. Given the long battery life of unit and pod, the battery drain issue is not that big of a deal.

Not bad for the price, but unreliable

A few months after buying a pair of these I thought I lost the actual earbuds so I bought another pair (turns out my cat just knocked them under the couch) so review based on multiple units. Price is great for what they are. Battery (when it charges correctly) is fantastic. Sound quality is pretty decent - I primarily use these while mountain biking or hiking, so I'm more concerned about hearing the podcast/audiobook/song without having it fall out of my ear than I am with bass level or experiencing all the aural intracacies. With that said the sound is pretty solid - I'm not going to pair these up to my receiver to listen to Mofi presses but it's great for Spotify and Audible. Battery life is fantastic! I can use for hours without running out (buds) and get a quick charge from the case when needed. With that said they do seem pretty prone to getting mucked up with sweat and don't always charge correctly after long workouts - just make sure the contacts between case and buds get cleaned (I use isopropyl alcohol) regularly and usually you'll be in good shape. Bad- I've had two replacements. One of my initial pairs had the right bud stop charging/working. Support replaced right away... but the new unit (right ear again) couldn't last for more than 15 mins off a full charge. They replaced again with no questions asked, but... Now I have a pair that works great (tbh not sure if a replacement or original) and one that never disconnects automatically when put in the case, nor connects automatically when taken out (need to manually connect via phone). If you want good battery life, decent sound, and are fine with the fact they're essentially disposable these are fantastic. Pretty standard for Anker headphones IMO. I will buy again when these break (they will - all Ankers I've ever purchased eventually stop working) because I like not worrying about losing them/babying them/generally being concerned what happens to them.
