Best buy I’ve made this year!
By Craig Wilson on Reviewed in the United States on August 11, 2021
I visited my sister this summer and was startled one morning when her iRobot went to work on its assigned program. We live in a single story smaller condo/home and I couldn’t justify the cost that my sister said they paid. But I saw this refurbished model that had fewer bells and whistles for less than half the investment that my sister told me. My wife was skeptical when I set it up and let it go run about our home. She was gobsmacked when I emptied the bin. We had just moved in here a month previous to this purchase and our place was newly refurbished with new everything...carpets, flooring, appliances, countertops, cabinets, fixtures and all. Additionally, my wife had just vacuumed and mopped all the floors the previous day and this little guy picked up (deep cleaned) stuff that our Oreck and other cleaning tools had been leaving behind. This model 980 does not have some of the features that newer or more pricey models have, but as a working product it is top shelf. Plus I have waited a couple months of use before I decided to write this review to be fair about it and it runs around here twice a week and all we have to do is empty the bin. Naturally, there are areas that cannot be reached and we have a high pile 8x8 area rug that it cannot maneuver. But we just follow up with our Oreck once in a while or take a dust mop on hard surfaces in those tight spots. I will also add, the savings of a refurbished item has not been an issue in this case. Amazons refurb products seem to be A+ and I feel confident that this item is worth what I paid.

Returned but not renewed.
By Shopaholic on Reviewed in the United States on October 5, 2020
My “renewed” product appeared to have arrived in the same packaging that it was previously returned with an old return label. I questioned this when I opened the package but decided to give it the benefit of the doubt and pulled the product out to plug in. When I pulled it out, I immediately noticed a broken part but thought that it was not important for the functionality of the unit. As I was trying to set it up with the app, the roomba refused to look for a WiFi connection and after trouble shooting it, it was obvious it was never going to connect to WiFi in its current condition. I decided I would just try to run it without the app and pressed the clean button. It pulled off the home base and went about 2’ before it stopped and gave me a code 14 error, asking for me to remove and replace the bin. I did this several times and then looked at the bin itself and noticed it also had a broken piece on it. The vacuum I received was obviously never renewed. It is in the process of being returned. I’ll try again it there is still one available once I receive me credit but I do not have high hopes.
