Stride Rite Journey Athletic Sneaker

So, six kids in, it's been a while since I had to deal with the dreaded "wide foot that fits no shoe". I don't even know where these babies got such slim, straight feet. But this last one? Not even a little. My 3 year old has high arches (or maybe it's high bridges? the top bit), and a wide little sausage foot. It's been difficult to maintain footwear for this pandemic baby....and he is mostly home, but likes to play outside. Now, his stride rites he outgrew we're 10w. And they were not too short, just too narrow. Which, of course, means an 11w is out of the question. So I scoured the internet and eventually ended up back on Amazon. They fit! Now, I am not in love with the strings, the last pair were elastic bands followed by Velcro. These, on his foot, I have to loosen all the way down, like Chuck Taylors.... which is a lot of work, dressing a moving target. These round laces also have to be double knotted each time, or they will be coming untied. But then I tighten the laces and we have success. He runs. He jumps. He climbs. He can not be stopped. Double wide, huh? Challenge accepted!
