Decent beginners kit, get something else if you are planning longer term use

Edit: My original review was two stars, but after some consideration, I've changed it to three. If you plan to do light work and have no soldering equipment already lying around, then this station would be a decent choice, its kit will most likely allow you to finish the job. If you are able to, I recommend testing the temp of the iron yourself with a thermometer rather than relying on the station's display. Also, the station is made of plastic and is quite light. So if you move your table, move the station, pull the cord, etc. it will move around easily. It is not stable and feels nowhere near as nice as a good and heavy metal soldering iron stand. I also tried using the helping hands, but they were extremely flimsy and in my opinion the mount placement was poorly designed. Especially when using a smaller workspace. Working on a board in the front makes it awkward to put the iron back in the holster and use the sponge effectively, I ended up having to put both helping hands on the side with one in the rosin core holder slot. Even after tightening the hands with the wrench, the hands would still turn suddenly and fall on the ground. They were completely unreliable. I did not solder two wires together with this kit, but I assume that was the main purpose of the hands, anything heavier causing it to quickly rotate and fall over in my experience. You would need a separate set if you wanted to work with a board or with a wire to an lcd ribbon cable like I was doing with this; this does make sense considering the price. I'll give it two stars instead of one because as a beginner kit there is potential here. The entire kit they give you, such as the alternative tips, solder sucker, tip holders on the top of the station, sponge could be quite useful to somebody that doesn't already have the supplies separately. The solder that comes with is lead-free, and I did not touch it, wouldn't recommend you to either. This model is good if you are trying to do some light work and don't want to buy several items separately, however it is not comfortable for long term use and lacks ergonomic appeal. I would recommend investing in some used higher end soldering stations if you plan to do more than basic work. Returned. I needed a hot air rework station, so I ended up purchasing their Yihua 853D 2A model which has a soldering iron, hot air rework, and voltage tester instead.
