Impressive 4K projector with Android TV OS built-in
By Michael N on Reviewed in the United States on October 10, 2020
I’m a Capsule 2 user since 2019. The Capsule 2 is good, but not great for daytime-use especially in the bigger family room with large windows due to the limited brightness and resolution. This Cosmos Max caught my eye because of its design and 4K specs.Pros:1. The design and built quality is great. Love the starlight top panel design.2. The 4K image quality is bright and clear, good enough to use during the day in the family room.3. The Android TV OS is easy to use. I use Netflix, YouTube, and Prime Video a lot and work perfectly so far.4. The sound quality of the built-in speaker is great and loud, bass is very powerful. Looks like it supports Dolby digital plus.Cons:1. So far not much to complain, but for this price, I do hope this is a ultra short throw projector so I can put it in front of the wall.2. This projector is quiet, but not as quiet as my low er brightness & res Capsule, understood the 2500 lm generates much more heat. Other options like laser projectors on the market are too pricey3. The Netflix and Prime video needs to be installed via the Nebula Manager app, it is very easy to install so I'm fine with it.Overall, a great smart 4K projector to try.

Poor Black Levels, broke after one year.
By rp100204 on Reviewed in the United States on October 21, 2023
We purchased this projector to upgrade our 1080p DLP projector. I expected to be immediately blown away by the picture quality, but was severely disappointed. The "4K" was not any improvement over 1080p, and the black levels were so washed out, we were unable to watch dark movies. I spent hours adjusting settings and levels trying to make it optimal, but never was able to correct this problem. We kept the projector since we had gotten rid of the old one and just decided to live with it. Colors still looked good and to its credit it was bright enough to see with all of the lights in the room on. Gaming was also good, we just never would watch any movies that were dark due to the wash out. However, 1 year and 3 months later, the projector no longer turns on. Of course, it is 3 months out of warranty. We also would only use it 1-2 times a week max, which I consider light use. This has been the biggest disappointment we have purchased through Amazon to date. I would look elsewhere and focus on longer established brands. It may be worth it in the long run to spend slightly more.
