New Water Bottle

Bought it for my Grand Daughter to replace the one she had inherited from her brother when he was in High School. The old one was past retirement age! New one arrived on time as promised. I didn't realize it didn't come with a straw lid just a plain lid. What self respecting young lady wants to tip a half gallon water bottle up just to get a drink? Not very ladylike! So we ordered a replacement lid with extra straws and she can now sip away like a proper young lady should. All's good! She now stays properly hydrated! And promises to put fewer dents in it than her brother managed with his. Hey its a water bottle! It arrived on time, keeps drinks cold all day, was a bit expensive, the young lady is happy, Grandpa got a hug! Life is good! Would I buy it again? Probably not...out of Grand Daughters! Yes I recommend this product!

Fix for stinky lids

The design and use of this wide mouth Hydro Flask is quite good. It is easier to clean the bottle's insides than the narrow top versions. That said, the cap's design is flawed in that it allows residual liquid to remain in and under the gasket seal after cleaning. It begins to smell like an old dishrag if you use if for lattes or other milk based drinks. HOWEVER - I have found that if you'll wash it after use and place some white vinegar in the cap for 20-min or so, the smell goes away.
